Come on...don't be afraid....many of you are saying it's the biggest fight of the year...it's such a big deal...80,000 fools are attending...

It will go down as The Most Meaningless Fight with The Highest Attendance of ALL TIME.

In a boxing sense, its bigger.

Martinez is considered the man still at MW, and Cotto is going for his 4th title.

lol...in a boxing sense?...isn't that the way everything SHOULD be judged here?

    This is Boxing.

Two men are fighting. Who will win? Who's the best?

Keep up the good work, STB...but remember this...no matter how many of them you destroy, they will keep coming back for more...

If we're talking about Legacy Cotto-Martinez is the winner,,... But if for the fight fans want to see, just look at the numbers.. Anyway I voted Cotto-Martinez

I think this is true its more options for the winner of Martinez-Cotto than it is for Froch or Groves.

    It's not.

I'm a big fan of Martinez, enjoy his style and courage, but this is no kind of defence for a lineal king following 14 months of inactivity. It's allure is based on its star power - stars which are dimming. If Sergio was in his prime this fight wouldn't happen.

Boxing fans should be able to separate stardom from credibility. Gennady Golovkin isn't as well known as Miguel Cotto, but if he was the opponent on June 7th then you'd have a point.

Froch-Groves II promises action, 80,000 strong, and it has split the nation. For the champion it's either icing on the cake or his legacy receives a concussion. If Groves wins then it sets up a huge bout with Andre Ward. If either Martinez or Cotto lose the excuses will come naturally - too old, blown up. The stakes aren't as high.

Boxing also requires pace to remains relevant, and this rematch is taking place 6 months after the original.

To top it off it's a grudge match.

    I don't think so.
Martinez seems more past it than Froch and Cotto is definitely more past it than Groves. Froch/Groves is also seen as ore of a 50/50 fight whereas 90% of what I've seen suggests Cotto has little chance against Martinez.
People say Martinez is 'the man' at 160 but would he really be favoured over Golovkin?

I see there's an ou in your "favor", Bub...

It's obvious by the names and posts of those who say it's not....now, if only the rest of you had the courage/stupidity to reveal yourselves in the poll...

THIS, is how you seperate the Quality BOXING Fans from the anti American garbage fans...

How about an actual counter argument?

Explain why Martinez vs Cotto is more important.

Froch vs Groves 2 is the bigger fight, more fans, plus a clash of styles that produces fireworks. Plus its the number 2 and number 3 in 168 fighting each other.

Cotto vs Martinez is an old Sergio, that we don't know in what shape he will come, vs a guy that isn't rated and doesn't belong at 160.
