With a little over a week left from one of the biggest fights of the year (name wise) how does everyone see this fight playing out.

I personally think Martinez takes it in a tougher than expected bout but wouldn't be too surprise if Cotto managed a SD type win a lot of options for the winner possible bouts with Alvarez, GGG, Quillin, Lara ect....

    Anyway who's everybody picking/rooting for?.

I think age could potentially play a big factor in favor of Cotto, if Martinez is reasonably health I think he should have just enough to earn a hard fought decision. Regardless of where you rate Cotto he aways comes to fight and in every fight but Trout he's had moments in his losses, I thought Trout won a 7-5/8-4 type fight with Cotto he took off in the championship rounds and closed out the fight.

Indeed, I like Groves in that match btw we've seen what revenge and a feeling of being robbed does to fighters look at Marquez or Martinez himself vs Williams

There will not be Championship rounds. Cotto will try to be aggressive but asa he realizes that he's weaker in every department including leading with a left jab, he will try to move and release a telling blow to keep his opponent honest and off him but Martinez will soon go to overwhelm Miguel merciless. I guess by the third round, it's a question of in which round Freddie throws in the towel.

Martinez has one leg and is old and shot (see his last fight where he lost to journeyman Murray).

Cotto is a younger fighter in good physical shape and who has a style that gives defensive fighters nightmares. See his fights against Judah, Malignaggi, Foreman and even Mayweather.

I think some are underestimating Martinez based on his last fight. Look at the records of the fighters of those last few fights. Murray is no journeyman.

You have to give the edge to Martinez, due to size and skill set. But he is 5 years older. If Cotto comes out the way he did against Delvin he could win but I think that is unlikely.

    Pretty much this.

I give Cotto a decent chance, though. Wouldn't be surprised if he managed to push Sergio around, but that would be more to do with Sergio and less to do with Cotto.
