that's a joke. relocate to europe and fight an 11-0 dude named ASIANbek? Maybe if cotto happened to be the joke of the century, like your post, he would do that:hey, huh? but he isn't, so bring on the exciting as hell mayorga, then margarito in the garden or puerto rico, and then either canelo or julio cesar chavez Jr, hopefully
I heard that Dzinziruk may face Martinez which I would like to see. Berto should face Aydin and/or Senchenko as they're WW's and Senchenko has a creditable belt. Everyone else is meh and Cotto should just stay in 154 not move down. Dzinziruk wouldn't be a bad fight to make for Cotto as they're both in the same division and Dzinziruk is also one of the top guys there. BTW, you have Aydin twice.
I never knew Mayorga had a best. He throws more haymakers than Haye and that's not fundamentally sound boxing at all. This guy is totally in need of some amateur experience. Patients, timing and defense are grossly missing from this cats game. The fact that he actually has wins over guys like Vernon Forrest 2x's and even a win over a damaged Fernando Vargas I think is absolutely amazing. Til this day I don't understand how this guy has survived as many bouts as he has. I've watched film over an over and outside of a few wild haymakers and more cheap shots behind the head than anything, I just don't see the weapons. Any sucess this guy has is truly a mystery to me.
These are my sentiments. A very, very, very poor risk/reward value for Cotto, and it seems like for Arum too.
Lose lose fight for cotto. If he wins, so what? If he loses, he is shot. Guess it keeps him active and he is a name but not much else to it. I can't believe people would pay for this fight.
I havent seen mayorga in ages. It would have been competitive if it was the mayorga we seen that faced trinidad, I have no I idea now but have to assume he is near shot. Steward is doing well so far with cotto, he will win and its a good name and all that for him, the only thing that is ****ed up is this has no business being on PPV
Depends what Mayorga turns up on the night. Mayorga is huge at 154 and Cotto is un tested at this weight. I think this could be entertaining like the Mosley fight but I think Cotto takes it 117-111 with a few slight scares, maybe even a late stoppage. A shock KO is posible if Mayorga is motivated though. Mayorga is much tougher than most on here will admit and he brings in the casual fans. Good fight really, I remember most on here were saying Cotto would lose to Foreman, this fight should be tougher than that one and it brings in more money so it's a good fight.
Prime Mayorga vs Prime Cotto would've been an awesome fight. Too bad Mayorga lost his motivation after he was robbed against Spinks...
