What guys? :huh The only thing anyone has said in this thread about Clottey is that his rumored opponent sucks.
I think people have generally been way too harsh on Clottey. He's a very good fighter, who was outclassed and had nowhere to turn against Pacquiao. I'm looking forward to seeing Lenny Zappa. He's an exciting young fighter.
They said he was boring. The man has been on an extended lay off and testing his chops at a new weight class, it is a tune up, of course his opponent will not be Class A. Maybe I took it wrong, but it seemed as though people were acting as though they didn't want to see Clottey back in action. I, personally, am happy to see him back in the mix.
I'd be thrilled to see him as long as it's against someone much, much better than Calvin Green...especially if it's a question of paying money to watch.
21 and 5? Man he has a KO win over... OK I see your point. Glad to know it was a misunderstanding on my part. Man this fight is WRONG. Not Class A, but Class D? This guy has NEVER won past 8. Clottey is a former champion and Top 5 WW. Where is the commission? Oh Boxing...
Clottey-Foreman could actually be pretty good. I could see both guys feeling comfortable enough with each other's power to come out of their shells and engage more than they often do (like both did with Cotto).
Arum is making a card out of a bunch of tuneups and it will sell while he barely has to pay his fighters since they are all fighting bums One of the fights I actually really wanna see is Clottey vs Cintron.
True, but that knee... Clottey-Mora would have been good if Mora stepped up against Mosley. Clottey-Cintron, Clottey-Powell would also be great. Clottey needs a "go-getter" to be fun to watch.
Now we'll get to see how Yuri's knee has healed....mayb workin on gettin Clottey in there with him next, that should b fun
