King is a *******, but he made many fighters rich - not his fault if they went and spent it all.

The Mclellan story's more complex than that if I recall. I'm also pretty sure King paid for his treatment at first. I'll dig out my copy of War, Baby. Or maybe Bunce can let us know.

 

Yer pretty sure Warren and King were forced to show their accounts books and they had done no wrongdoing and i think they had paid for a fair amount of medical expenses out of their own pocket

 

I'm sure Don King was squeaky clean in all departments.

 

I thought McClellan received a gross of $200k.... once Sillyman and the BBBoC took their cut it was down to around $190k :think

I'd also heard that King paid for his medical bills too :think

Like David said, King is a twat no doubt, but once they've received their money there's little he can do to stop them blowing it all. Holyfield and Tyson both received around $50m for their two fights, both are skint.

In Frank Bruno's book he refers to an old trainer who worked with King fighters..... you might earn one million and King would probably earn six million, but that's one million you weren't getting from anyone else.

 

I also think King underpromoted Julian Jackson.

Does anyone think we will get UK TV coverage for this show. Would love to be able to watch. Read the press release and there sounds like there will be a few good fights on it?

I know Top Rank sometimes get their shows on Sky.
