Meh, too much emphasis on Floyd's personal stuff. That's not why i'm buying the fight. Should have included some clips of the Brian Kenny interviews where Floyd says that Puerto Rico is too far for him to fight Cotto lol.

Interesting. Totally on Mayweather's nuts. I couldn't make anything better, but I have seen much better promos.

He mentioned his father beating him on a previous 24/7. Can't remember which one off the top of the head.

As a guy whose dad went a bit far with disciplining, I can personally say that the anger never goes away and when you get the opportunity to lash out, you do.

My dad beat me too, so a beating = physical abuse now? Hmmmm! I don't agree....

Whatever your dad did (Floyds), he is still your dad and you can bet his dad didn't beat him on National TV so whatever "feelings" Floyd has he should deal with in private.

It takes alot to parent a child and no one is perfect, Floyd would definately not like one of his sons to talk to him in that way so I don't see why he did it to his own.

I really like Floyd as a boxer and get this whole "persona" he puts on to sell himself and I think its smart but sometimes he goes too far and imo he over stepped the mark by ALONG way.

"Constant beatings" does not equal discipline. You're choosing to play the word game.

"Beating" is different from "spanking/disciplining". Only Floyd and his father know what went down, but when someone describes their memories of their father (as Floyd did) and it contains the phrase "constant beatings", that's not healthy, no matter how you spin it.

Children remember. Some can get past it, depending on the severity of the disciplining, some can't.

Exactly. So think to yourself how he might have treated Floyd when he was little and couldn't defend himself.

You dont know it was "constant" you cant know and according to Floyds grand mother who he is still on very good terms with. She doesn't mention anything like that.

Hell even Roger who is famed not to get on well with Sr has never mentioned anything like that.....

I personally don't believe it, maybe Im wrong maybe Im right in any case what happened on 24/7 was not the right or healthy way to deal with what happened.

Besides I dont believe it was some deep rooted resentment coming to fruition...Floyds a grown man with 4 children of his own he knows full well how to resolve any underlying issues he has with his father.

Imo what happened was terrible.....I got issues with my own pops....much bigger than Floyd has....and I couldn't (notice I used the word couldn't and not wouldn't) deal with them like that!

Floyd owes Sr ALOT because if not for him he might be the "cab driver" himself....

I would say the Sr/Jr relationship is obviously too complicated to attempt to try understand or form an opinion on it

It was all round a car crash....I thought the things Jr said were worse....even if they weren't where I come from you don't speak to your parents like that!

But thats just me....like I said I like Floyd but imo he f.ucked up there!

My opinion isn't really on the relationship per se more on what we saw on 24/7.

That's your opinion. It shapes everything you're saying. You don't know the nature of their relationship on a personal level at all. Personally, I can only go by what Floyd has consistently said.

Floyd's mother said that Sr. used baby Floyd as a shield to keep from getting shot. Just on that point alone, if a "father" does something like that, he doesn't deserve respect.

I guess your dad could do anything to you and you would still treat him with reverence.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I choose to live in the real world. You get what you put out.
