Mosley said that Pac punches faster and harder than Floyd. Marquez said that Pac punches harder than Floyd. However, a sparring partner of both Pac and Floyd said that Floyd punches harder than Pac, but that the hardest puncher he's ever sparred with was Antonio Margarito. Bricks in sparring? :think :yikes
The ****, I'm pretty sure there was an exact thread like this, but it said Cotto "Pacquiao hits harder then Mayweather ". Gonna go look for it....
Interesting. And yet many people have said other things i.e. like Floyd would beat Manny, that Floyd has better defense than Manny, more speed, more footwork, and that he hits harder than Manny. And still........no fight because of PED, purse, and so many other excuses.
yep..... this is before he fought pacquiao.... he was asked who hit harder and he is talking about making weight on Friday... so this is old... :-(
A lot of fighters say Pac dont hit THAT hard, it's the speed that gets them, because they can't see the punch coming, or their body has less time to anticipate the punch. Pac has power, but it is the combination with his speed that makes it deadly. I believe this is why he didn't Knock out bradley or knock him down because his speed is diminished some.
Correct. Pac hit JMM and Bradley with his best moneyshots in his recent fights and nothing happened....... If Pac grows some balls and agrees to face FMJ then we shall see how good his chin is when FMJ tags it at will...........IMO he will get stopped by the "featherfisted" Mayweather, lol, the irony.
It doesn't matter who Cotto says punches harder. Unless he's exclusively receiving bodyshots from both guys, he's not really in a good position to judge.
This is why I don't pay much attention to what fighters say regarding other fighters' power. If a punch repeatedly hurts you and knocks you down then it's a hard punch, period. Saying you weren't prepared for it only shows that you weren't in a position to accurately gauge its true power in the first place.
