I don't know the R-B-R breakdown, but I remember having it 115-113 for Cotto. Shane did better than I expected.
Im a Shane fan also and had Cotto winning a close but clear decision. While Cotto did backpeddle the last few rounds, he did not run. . . his counter punches had some hurt intentions on them - they were NOT pitter pat and run type punches.
I'm ashamed to say that I didn't see this fight until relatively recently. Let's just say I was very, very impressed with what Cotto was able to do while moving backwards, and also very, very impressed by Shane's late round charge. But the only sane way to view that fight was a Cotto win. He absolutely dominated the middle rounds, and was effective enough to stop Shane's momentum in the championship rounds.
This was an incredible fight. I had it 7-5 Cotto but could understand it if someone had it a draw. But i don't think Mosley won. He didn't win 7 rounds.
Good post, i also had it 8-4 Cotto. A clear win. It just goes to show that some people have NO idea how to score fights on this forum.
Thank You MSTR, and I agree 100% that some people don't know how to score a round much less a whole fight.
I had it 7-4-1. I've watched it 4 times. I like Mosley and consider myself unbiased when it comes to judging a fight. I just cant see how Mosley wins. I challenge someone who thinks mosley won the fight to give an analysis the way Benny did.
very good statement. while i dont think it was a draw, i for sure cant see at all how anyone could give mosley 7 rounds. that is ridiculous.
The people who say Shane won will try to justify it by having at least a couple of rounds scored even but anyone with a brain knows thats just rationalizing because all the rounds were pretty clear to score with the exception being the 9th round which I scored for Cotto and my reason is in the post so they can't say im bullshitting.
Cotto seemed to either get tired or he was hurt late in the fight. I never saw the shot if he got hurt. Either way, he still fought well when Mosley was chasing him. In fact, he won those last rnds.
Fair enough my friend I just felt the need to do this thread for the ppl who don't want to give credit when credit is due.
