Uhm. It takes 2 to make the PPV buys not one. Shane helped a lot to bring in those numbers. Cotto being in that fight helped Cotto and his numbers but Cotto didn't bring those numbers in by himself. And PBF didn't bring in 2.4 against Oscar, but without Floyd Oscar wouldn't of did 2.4 mil.
Yeah . . . point is Cotto + PBF will easily surpass that 400 PPV figure . . . so if PBF says that there's no money fighting Cotto . . . we would all know that's just a bull**** excuse.
The thing I find crazy, is that you guys have to pay so much! $50 seems to be way too much to be shelling out just to see a fight. I subscribed for the month to Setanta to see Calzaghe-Kessler and Cotto-Mosley (and ended up with Haye-Mormeck into the bargain- wuhoo!) but that cost be £7.99, about $16. I get a ton of on-demand stuff as well for that. I wouldn't have paid $50 to have seen any of those fights individually unless it was live, and I LOVE this sport!
Your basicaly reiterating my point, actually. Floyd and Cotto would do huge numbers, fans will come from each side to see the match.
All depends on if they can find the sponsors. If it isn't PPV's paying for it the commercial advertising has to cough up the cash. Do you see cash rich corporations like Microsoft lining up to support boxing? :huh
Wait, why is Cotto the attraction of that PPV Remember theres a guy by the name of Shane Mosely headlining that fight too, all of his PPVs are big.
Who cares about Cotto's intraverted personality and humbleness. He deserves a shot at Floyd despite that. And Floyd, being THE champion, should definitely give his number one contender a fight.
Damm! Tiger Woods wasnt there. Cotto must not be a big star after all! And after all this time I thought he was. :bart
