hatton wan't outclassed from the get go, it was competitive for 58-6 rounds.

why do you say it was best hatton and a poor mayweather? that's just crap.

and aas far as you saying styles make fights, yes they do, and just like margo having the style to beat cotto, mayweather had the style/skills to beat hatton. the difference is that hatton's loss was at a higher weight to the p4p #1 and cotto's loss was to a fighter in his own weight class that was about #25 on peoples p4p lists.

People should never count him out yet.

Grow up FFS. Accusing people of nuthugging when they don't agree with you is lame. Hatton was in the P4P on merit IMHO (The Rings 3 was probably a bit high) and losing to Mayweather shouldn't have dropped him right out of the Top 10.

And no the "poor Mayweather and the best Hatton" line doesn't convince me either, that just seems like a way of justifying the drop just because they wanted it to happen. Likewise Cotto losing to "a big man with a great chin" doesn't mean he shouldn't drop out of the top 10, he got stopped by someone outside the top 10.

Erm, I think I'm taking a leaf out of your book there. Supposedly everybody is against Ricky in this big bad world, even if they are legitimately talking about boxing.

I never said anything about Mayweather, I think you are confusing me with somebody else now the red mist has descended.

Backoffish was the way to beat Hatton - draw him on and counter!!

In reply to the previous poster, I don't recall Hatton ducking Miguel Cotto......

The only fighter he has ever ducked is Junior Witter :deal

    Christ knows why.....

    top 15 not top 10

he just got tok'd by a non top 10 p4p and that is going to hurt his position, as for the ricky hatton coments cotto losing to margo is worse then hatton losing to the number 1 p4p fighter obviously :patsch

No way is he still top-10.

You don't get destroyed like Cotto did against someone in your same weight class and stay in the top-10 pfp.

I don't think you can compare. Look at how Cotto fought those first 5-6 rounds against Margarito and you can tell that he would still be able to beat and even dominate most fighters out there with that kind of effort. Margarito is simply alot better than he was given credit for.

Cotto is still one of the best fighters in the world. Hatton might actually lose to Malignaggi

Anyone who dropped Hatton like a stone in their rankings (inc. Ring) HAS to apply the same to Cotto. Hatton lost to a FAR superior fighter than MAC.

that's stupid, hattons a clear #1 at his weight. you say hatton might lose to the #2 in his division malignaggi, but there's more chance of cotto losing to williams or citron than there is hatton losing to malignaggi.
