Cotto P4P top 10 anymore?

I'd keep him just in the ten.

 

Saidly I don't think he is.

 

Cotto's resume and recent opposition, plus is overall ability still keeps him in the top 10. #9 or #10 though. I don't see who you want to argue over him. Wright hasn't fought in over a year since losing.

Hatton doesn't have Cotto's level of opposition, and obviously by watching him isn't as skilled or talented a fighter as Cotto. Also, PBF, while a better fighter than Margo, isn't a puncher and a finisher, which Margo is. Also, there's a pretty big size difference between Margo and Cotto, where as there isn't one between PBF and Hatton. And lastly, I felt Cotto clearly won the first half of that fight, and had his moments plus one or two rounds in the 2nd half. I only gave Ricky two rounds against PBF, both of them mostly because Floyd simply wasn't doing much in the round.

 

Also. RING magazine (and myself plus a lot of people I know) kept Ricky in the top 10 after he lost to Floyd. He wasn't dropped out until his fight with Lazcano. He was taking on a guy who had acheived nothing at his weight, and the best he did at 135lbs was get mauled by Castillo, plus who had retired before fighting Hatton. He also lost a very clear decision to Vivian Harris, who was later destroyed by Junior Witter. Lazcano hurt Hatton on several occasions, landed his jab almost at will, and was able to time Ricky coming in most of the time. It was a horrible performance, even if he did win 10 of the rounds. Getting outclassed and stopped (even if it is by the P4P king) and then performing like that is not what a top 10 guy does.
