Anyone else think that Cotto's best chance of success would be to try and outbox, rather than presure Pac (at least early on until maybe he has worn Pac down)? I think (in the early rounds at least) he should fight this fight like he fought Margo but with more of a body attack. Just flurry and move, easier said than done though.
Yes, he has to box, like he did in the latter rounds versus Clottey, to stand a chance. He has decent boxing skills, is better on the back foot than Oscar and Hatton, and we know Pacquiao can be unsettled and get caught by cagey, accurate, counter punchers. Cotto's jab could be massive in this respect. It won't be enough though. Pacquaio is just too quick, to aggressive, too much stamina, and he will stop Cotto late on.
but in doing that wouldn't he be doing what Pac wants him to do? I just think if he gets caught up in the whole "I'm the bigger man" thing he could rush in and get countered like mad and probably cut, possible early stoppage?
