i think it takes alot for a fighter to not say anything about a fighter that he believes he can beat. Cotto is showing alot of class by not calling out Mayweather.

It doesn't say that he's scared or that he doesn't have balls ... it just means that he has respect for one of his peers.

I'm sure that just like all other PBF opponents, Cotto believes that he has the key to victory against PBF. He has a calm demenor and isn't going to get out of character.

Cotto isn't doing anything wrong ... as long as he's under contract under TopRank ... he has to follow their rules as they have made Cotto what he is today.

If Arum made you a millionare without you having to do something gay ... then whats wrong with doing what he says. It hasn't hurt him up to this point.

I didn't realize it was mandatory for a fight like this to happen until both fighters call each other out. Must be in a part of the rulebook I didn't read.

I have a better idea, how about the two best welterweights in the world fight each other because they are the two best welterweights in the world, and it's the biggest fight in boxing that can be made right now.
You know damn well that if Arum announced tomorrow that Cotto and Mayweather was a done deal, Miguel would be all for it. It's unlikely his silence has anything to do with him being scared.

And be honest OP, if Cotto called out Mayweather tomorrow, and Floyd stuck to his supposed plan of fighting DLH and then Hatton instead of Cotto, would you start calling PBF scared.

"Calling out" a fighter makes for good sound bites, but in this case it's a no brainer that this fight should happen. We don't need either guy flapping their lips to confirm that.

 

Cotto thinks he can beat Mayweather, but thinking and believing are two different mindsets.

Its not a matter of ducking or cherry picking because when PBF fights - there's always some fool thinking that he's going to lose ... and for 39 times he's been the victor.

Cotto isn't going to be any different ... i'm sure that they're waiting for the anticipation to get high, so that Cotto can secure a big payday, and Arum can get something out of Mayweather.

Cotto i'm sure is battling demons ... do you accept your first loss before it happens ... are you satisfied with a big payday despite a loss?
