It is so easy to love this guy. He has fought the best and he always shows up ready to fight.

As far as the Pac catch weight, it is as simple as this: If the weight didn't make a difference, Pac and Arum wouldn't have asked for it.

 

Considering Cotto fought the first time against loaded gloves (a supreme advantage far exceeding that of weight), I see no problem with this.

Also, Marg is scum trash. It's no surprise he fought with Arum his entire career. Match made in heaven.

 

...Or they would've taken the re-match at 154

Ridiculous deal on Arum's part.

 

Diehard PAC fans and Diehard PAC haters are one in the same.....both overly driven to hammer their opinions/views on the masses while tossing out objectivity on either side of the spectrum.

PAC fanatics will claim PAC is the #1 ATG...while PAC haters will claim PAC is a Fraud.:roll: The realty of what PAC is...what he represents in terms of his boxing legacy lies somewhere int he middle.

PAC is one most accomplished fighters boxing has ever produced. He's not Ray Robinsion....but he's mentioned in the same breath, which is a rare honor for any boxer.

If we really want to break **** down with regards to the "Catch weights"....PAC has only had 3....Cotto, JMM and Marg. Other greats like Armstrong, Jones Jr, Hopkins, Leonard, DLH and many others had 2 or more catch weight fights...

Given PAC started off at 106....I think a catch weight fight at the higher weights is acceptable given he's the smaller man moving up to face the bigger men.

Some say PAC faced fighters who were coming off a loss...well...he did..once...That was when EM came off a loss to Raheem....which EM took as a "TUNE UP" to stay sharp for the rematch with Manny. Other than that...PAC has faced guys coming off wins...OH...Shane....PAC faced Shane who was coming off a draw to Mora.

PAC isn't the best fighter in the history of boxing....nor is he a fraud....what he is, is a rare special talent whom only comes around once or twice a generation.

Pac seems desperate. He career is over. He has a loss to bradley he has a rematch with JMM which he might lose and if he wins it he has a rematch with bradley. Lets say pac wins both what does he have left? his career is over there is no more opponents hence why he has back to back rematch's as his next two fights. He's dying for a floyd fight now and begging for a cotto rematch before he wraps up his career. He can't fight anyone else at 140 or 147 they aren't worthy opponents, he's out of luck. I got a feeling he win lose again real soon too, fighting JMM then bradley just ain't easy its only gone a get harder and pac looks like he's about to decline.

 

I think it took a little off the win for some....but for most...the utter domination and destruction of a fighter like Cotto resonated more at the end of the day.

Its like those who saw the WARD vs DAWSON fight.....MOST gave Ward full credit because it was such a dominant performance over a quality fighter like Chad.....but SOME.....some feel Chad dropping down to Wards weight class takes off some of the luster.

This fight in my opinion would have been better had Ward accepted the catch weight proposal from Dawson.....but regardless of what weight the fight at the performance should be respected!

There's desperation....but not from PAC.....Fighters are desperate to land a PAC fight for two reasons.... ONE....the money.....and TWO....they think PAC is on the slide.

 

Glad Cotto came out to clear up things.. Just makes you wonder what Arum is saying about fighters under his stable who cannot defend themselves in the public, or are only allowed to say certain things while under him. Always makes me wonder why he is now so vocal about the catch-weight in the Pac fight compared to when he was signed to Arum.. I honestly don't think he could say anything negative about it while signed to Top Rank..
