Let me refresh your memory back when Cotto was at 140 he fought Paulie and gave him a beating of a lifetime despite losing 5 rounds to Paulie who was boxing well. Paulie's face was much worse looking and disfigured than Cotto's was against Margo. Fast forward to 2008, Cotto is fighting Margo although he's outboxing Margo for the majority of the fight he gets tired in the later rounds and is taking a beating but instead of continuing he chose not to. My question is why is Cotto seen as a brave warrior and a guy like Paulie seen as trash and a runner for taking a beating just as bad as Cotto took if not worse and did not quit?

Actually, a big reason Paulie gets hyped so much was because of that loss. Now everyonone assumes that he has an iron chin, and is p4p one of the toughest fighters in the world. Paulie was going against a weight drained Cotto that couldn't fight for 3 minutes every round. Put Paulie in there with a Cotto at full strength or Margo and he doesn't last the distance. He wouldn't get a chance to quit becasue McGirt would do it for him by round 6 or 7.

Simple . . . Cotto took his beating like a man while exchanging . . . Paullie took his beating while trying to move away from his opponent.

In short . . . the difference in their fighting styles.

Paulie actually stood his ground in that fight more so than Cotto did against Margo.

I disagree. Paulie fought Cotto and stood in front of him alot in that fight more than Cotto did against Margo.
