Go **** yourself ****ing idiot, Cotto just couldn't take anymore and was stopped WITH punches, he never quit on his stool, he simply had nothing left to offer and was dropped twice. Full credit to Margarito for that, let the insults begin.
Once again, I'm a huge Cotto fan, but when you take a knee at the end without it being directly associated with punches, and the fight is stopped being you don't want to fight, YOU QUIT (or retired). Either way, he quit. I don't like it, but it's life. He fought like a warrior, but he quit.
Scar, read post #42 in this thread. Cotto was not hit with a punch he took a knee and quit in the ring. It is harsh but it IS what happened.
The last "knockdown" was Cotto getting hit, then back peddling, and AS SOON AS MARGO GOT NEAR HIM, he took a knee. That's quitting. Believe me, it's not getting knocked out. There was no 10 count, there was no ref stoppage. He (and/or his corner) threw in the towel and quit....That's fact. Watch the fight again if you need to.
Quitter my ass- his corner was just about throwing in the towel. Anyone could see he was just thrashed by Margarito.
He took punches on the chin man, don't be a ****ing fruitcake, he took like 2 uppercuts in a row and was already dazed. He was hurt badly and was bleeding heavily way earlier in the fight, if he's a quitter he would've quit right there and then. Some of you idiots need to experience taking a punch in the face instead of dildos up the ass to really know what it goes in there.
Um...ok, so his corner threw in the towel and quit for him. He didn't want to fight, his corner didn't want to fight, it's obvious. Bayless DID NOT determine that Cotto couldn't continue. COTTO (AND/OR COTTO'S CORNER) RETIRED. Get over it!
What the hell are you talking about? He got punished to the body and possibly had a broken nose. This had nothing to do with his chin. Anyone can get hurt and hit just right, even a light hitting puncher can hurt you. It was a great fight and the better man won period. Margarito could get dropped or knocked out in his next fight, then what? Cotto showed heart and true grit and he will be back.
