When have I tried to discredit Cotto? I simply stated facts. And no, paying Urkal step aside money in order to fight for a title that Hatton vacated is not better than beating the recognized champ, a guy who was coming off a win over the undisputed champion who was also a top 10 p4p fighter at the time. I have always had good things to say about Cotto. However, he is indeed a two time paper champ. That's reality.

I told you, Williams was chasing after Margo when Berto's fight was set. All the Welters will have their shot at Berto at 2009. His career progession isn't much different than Cotto's when Cotto was Berto's age.

 

Defended his title against Shane Mosley and Antonio Margarito. 2 Top welterweights, how does that make him a paper champion? I could see if he was defending it only against scrubs, but that's not the case. Cotto made the belt mean something by defending it against guys like Mosley and Margarito.
