Yep, the Garden is a good site for the rematch. It seems only fair that Cotto, and especially his fans who can't make it all the way to Vegas, get a chance at homecourt advantage.

I'm just saying if we're comparing the upcoming opponents between Margo and Paul Williams, Margo is facing a better opponent.

Cintron has already made it known that he doesn't want to fight Williams. Why the hell should he get a title fight anyway?

Cintron will fight Williams if he had the opptunity. Why did Williams chose Quintana then?

Yes, because Margo is with Top Rank. Arum does a good job of looking after his fighters. Williams has been looking for the best guys available. However, they don't all want to fight him.

Because Cintron took an ill advised fight in Nov., got "injured" and then pulled out of the fight. Mosley, Judah and Margo turned down offers to replace Cintron, and Williams had to settle on Quintana.

Yes, when he won the belt it was a paper title, but during his reign as Champion he made the belt mean something. Just because you win a paper title doesn't always mean it will be a paper title while you hold it, it depends on who you defend your title against and Cotto defended it against 2 top 5 Welterweights. Therefore, the title actually meant something.

I don't see how it's Margarito's fault that two of the best welters in the world are in Top Rank. Cintron wasn't in Top Rank (least I don't believe he was) and Margarito got two shots at slapping him around.

This is true. Cintron pretty much ran from Williams when the opportunity arose.

Quintana stepped in and the rest is history.

Didn't I already say that Cintron pulled out of the fight? How the hell can he settle on Cintron, when Cintron pulled out of their fight with an injury?:yikes

every topic about cotto you always mention it like people are not aware... a champ is a champ... sometimes those paper champs like you mention have tougher challenges than those that fight against a recognized champ... its all a business just like mayweather had the name and money to get the shot to fight carlos, top rank had the money to pay urkal... this goes on all the time with boxing, so its unfair just to point him out... do you seriously believe baldomir is better than quintana, dont just get carried by whos the champ??? sometimes fighting for the vacant title is tougher than fighting a recognized champ... the real champ is he who defends it over and over... and cotto did that...

How is it Williams' fault that Top Rank doesn't want to put his guys in there with Williams?

I didn't say it was. Neither man is reponsible for their match making obviously.

My issue was with your implications that Margarito doesn't want to be the best welterweight in the world, when he's facing better opposition than Paul Williams.
