When I saw Cotto come to the ring and pray in the corner, and repeatedly cross himself (as in preparing to pray; the 'Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit' thing), I knew he was aware of what he was getting into, much as Frank Bruno, around 20 years ago, was when he came to the ring crossing himself as he prepared to fight Mike Tyson in one of their two bouts.

Frank could not stop praying over himself, so to speak, and when you saw that you knew Bruno's confidence was shot and it was only a matter of time.

he was crossing himself coming out of for every round. i thought that was kind of out of character, thats foming from a cotto fan. i think doubt was starting to creep up in his mind after that huge margarito 7th round.

nice call on the fight paul. i thought cotto was winning this since it was announced, props to margarito and cotto for a great fight. who do you think is the next fighter to get stopped?

Thanks, Cooke. You are a class act.

When you see a guy doing that many crosses, you know he's 'geeked-up,' or nervous. That was out of character for Cotto, I agree. Good observations by you, man.

Um, I don't follow the sport as much as I once did, so I can't comment on all of the fights and fighters involved. If I had to zero in on one fight, however, I would say that Vitali Klitschko -- if he makes it through training camp -- will destroy Sam Peter. The two fights that looked like locks to me were Margo/Cotto and Peter/Vitali. Like Margo was for Cotto, Vitali is all wrong for Peter. I know Vitali's older and been off forever, but he will crush Peter if the fight takes place. It is a perfect styles matchup for the elder Klitschko.

    Peace, Cooke!

i thought you were surely gonna say rjj was getting stopped against joe:yep.

but yeah, vitali, even if he was 70% of what he once was should put a stop to all this peter nonsense.

    Ha ha ha!

I will be thrilled if JC stops RJJ, but I doubt that will happen. You never know, and Joe is southpaw, like Tarver. But I doubt it.

See, that's what I'm saying: It's not about what I want to happen, it's about trying to figure out what will happen. What I, personally, hope will occur in a particular match-up has nothing to do with it.

Peter is unbelievably overhyped, even after getting owned by Wlad for 10 rounds and after losing in his first fight with Toney (though he supposedly won).

After seeing McCline put Peter on his ass repeatedly, Sam is just waiting to get crushed. Vitali is just the guy to do it, too, even at 37.

The one fight I would love to see is Peter-Haye. Peter would destroy Haye, and at least then Sam would be serving a purpose. :hey
