I don't like this idea really. If Cotto beats Clottey, beats Manny that really throws a wrench in Pac's superfight with Floyd. Then again...If Cotto does beat Manny were going to see Cotto vs Floyd. It's not worth it IMO. If he is to do it though then I'd fight him at 147 for a title. Now, if for some reason JMM beats Floyd and I were Manny I'd definitely be fighting Cotto. If he loses it's not as big of a deal. If he wins he goes to have pac vs Jmm 3
Cotto is too big... It's not even that I don't think Manny couldn't win. I wanna see Pac JMM 3 more than anything, and welters fighting each other.
Beyond that Cotto is really upset with Arum over his defending of Margo. Arum is using Pac as a bargaining chip to keep Cotto with Top Rank.
I want Pac to fight and hopefully beat PBF. Then if he is up for another fight, Cotto at 147. Win or lose, hang them up. If he beats Cotto at 147 with a title, then ****, I might consider Pac to be the greatest P4P all time.
Interesting, I didn't know that. good looking out. Makes even more sense now, Pac Vs. Cotto is a wrap if Cotto comes thru with Clottey.
The catchweight is a bad idea. We've all seen how much better Cotto is at 147 than he was at 140. I don't think experience was the only factor. WW is Cotto's home. If Manny wants the fight, Cotto should stick to his guns and tell him it's 147 or nothing.
Pac already said he prefers to fight Mayweather anyway, so I can guarentee how that discussion would go. Cotto has no leverage in this situation. If Arum tries to force this fight, Cotto will probably have to come down to at least 143.
