That might be a tad overstated. Miguel Cotto is a much better boxer than is Jermain Taylor, even if he is not the athlete Taylor is. That's all you need to know) will not be able to hold up to the power-punching and high output of the towering, indefatigable Mexican.

So, Cotto supporters, I suggest you seek out the former Jermain Taylor followers and ask them how to deal with your guy's getting definitively KO'd and his supposed aura of 'greatness' being forever shattered. You're going to need that information for yourselves in just a few short weeks when Margo destroys Miguel.

Or, if you like, you could just ask Kermit Cintron.

Joe Calzaghe made the right decision in choosing to fight glass-jawed Roy Jones rather than face still-rising Kelly Pavlik.

Joe could easily defeat Pavlik, a fighter he is naturally larger than, much faster than and whom he has a vast experience edge over. It would be like the Kessler fight, only easier, as Pavlik is not as large as Kessler is.

And perhaps Joe will take it after he defeats Rickety Roy. It's his business.

But Roy is still a larger name than Pavlik and if Joe doesn't sign to fight Roy now then it's likely Roy will go back to cockfighting or taking on unkown bums as is his wont. So Joe is correct in taking this fight now.

If he wants to face Pavlik later, Kelly won't be hard to find and that fight can get made easily.

While Roy likely won't be Glencoffe Johnson'ed against Calz, he should lose. Roy's skills were always overstated and they are even less now than they were in his wildly-overhyped, bum-o-the-month 'glory' days against part-time cops and garabagemen.

Hey, it wasn't just me. Go dig up Tim Smith's or some of the other cards that were written up by boxing beat guys. Cotto closed the show like a chump and it cost him the fight. But the Puerto Rican $$$ (both from the nation, which sponsored the fight, and from the New Yoricans who had paid big cash to see the fight in NYC) prevented the just decision from happening. I have no animosity towards anyone in the fight, or around the fight. I simply don't let punks like JMP off easily. They're used to talking sh*t and getting away with it. Usually I let it go but every now and then the dog will bite your hand. That's what JMP just found out.

This is an extremely easy fight to pick, easier than was either Taylor-Pavlik fight. That's one of the reasons I'm so confident: I know I have the winning horse.

Margo is going to win the fight. Cotto has a very slim chance of lasting the whole fight. Extremely slim. The only way he will make it to the final bell is if he gets and stays on his bike the whole night and he has the stamina to stay on the bike.

He doesn't have that stamina, and he doesn't have the chin to take Margo's shots. It will be a huge upset if he lasts the whole fight.

Cotto is going to get punked. It's just a matter of what form the punking will take.

You need to watch the fight again, because he fought the last 3 round going backwart dosen't mean he lose that fight, and now tell me when mosley fought going backwards and run in the half way of the fight,right he can but Cotto no, pleasse shut up.

I don't know why everyone acts like margo is this fearsome force-he has lost FIVE TIMES, he was getting beaten soundly by Clottey before clottey broke at least one hand and clottey is not exactly world class, he lost to williams who in his next fight got rocked numerous times by the "heavy hitting" Quintana....Margo is solid tough fighter who anyone would need to take seriously at WW but he is no better than that.

I like Cotto by KO. Margo got a good shot, but I think Cotto is relentless. It's going to be a great fight with tremendous bodyshots.

Oh yeah -- he was damn relentless after Balco Boy hit him with a body shot in the 9th or 10th round. He went into Macho Camacho mode and tried to pose his way to victory. That was the end of the 'relentless' Cotto fable.

Look, Cotto is a good fighter. But he's not going to be able to match up with Margo. Physically, it just isn't there. If Chop Chop hurt Cotto and so did Mosley, Margo is going to mug him.

As far as Clottey goes, are we talking about the same Clottey who was essentially shut out on all judges' cards for the last 8 rounds of his fight against Margo? That Clottey? The same guy who wasn't sure if he supposedly hurt his wrist, his hand or his fingers before/during/after the fight?

That the Josh Corley we're talking about?

You must be one of the ******ed mother****as i've seen on ESB Cotto won that 9th round against Mosley BTW, as far as the 10th round yes mosley won that round but Cotto was never in any serious danger as people like you who buy into propaganda believe and Cotto was never legitmately knockdown in his career unlike Kelly Pavlik who got knockdown hard against JT who's not exactly known as a big puncher. But from what I heard you said Hatton you felt was ahead on the scorecards against PBF till he got KO and you felt Mosley got robbed in the Cotto fight, with those two opinions right there you have been disqualified, now be gone you peasant

Ray Charles can see how this fight is going to go. The only people who can't are HBO and the Cotto fans.

It's not about being a know-it-all, it's about being grounded in reality.

Physically, Miguel Cotto does not match-up with Antonio Margartio. He's smaller, has a shorter reach, less power, a worse chin, and worse stamina. As I said, calling Pavlik-Taylor was easy after watching both fighters' contests heading up to their showdown.

This fight is a much easier call. Cotto will have to be in near-perfect condition to last the whole fight. He is going to get smoked, and that is as clear to members of the Braile Institute as it is to me.

Whether or not you like what I'm saying isn't relevant, and doesn't detract from the analysis herein. I'm not writing this to be liked, I'm writing it to give people a heads-up and to be able to say that I got the call correct. That's all that matters to me.

Again, when you have people earnestly arguing for shorter reach being an asset as Cotto 'huggers are doing here on ESB, you know you are in trouble as a fan of the fighter whose shorter reach is being hailed. If Shaq were going to have a post-up contest with David Robinson, I would loudly proclaim that Shaq would win. And yet, you have much of the board insisting that David Robinson is going to win and that Robinson's lack of bulk is an asset.

It's a joke.

Don't worry, I'll be here if I'm wrong. I just hope all the Cotto backers will be here as well, 5 weeks from now, when Cotto Smurf is sent a'packing for the same KO shores Margo sent fellow countryman Cintron to.

I agree with those picking Margarito. Cotto's chin was not too durable at 140, and I think he will have trouble taking the bombs are a legitimate hard-hitter like Margarito.
