I think that if Cotto went more to the body more he could have won... I am also disapointed on the stoppage I wanted him to let Cotto finish the fight...
I don't think anyone can seriously say that a referee should let a man finish a fight when he was getting the battering he was. Personal 'want' goes out of the window and you have to look at the sport as a whole and the potential for serious damage to the boxer - and Cotto was getting seriously damaged.
it wasnt working as well......pacman lands 40 power punches while cotto can only land 10 power punches.......
No Cotto would've still lost, idk... he wasn't throwing like he usually does, his body shots looked... blah. Everytime he had Manny on the ropes he wouldn't throw.... very frustrating to watch if you're a cotto fan
cotto threw loads of body shots. there was even points in the fight where pac stood there and let cotto bang away at him. pac soaked it all up and comeback with better.:bbb cotto should have tried to fight cautious. but that's never been in his nature and pac didn't let him do that for long anyway. :nono
the more you go to the body, there more you leave your head open....he could have been dispatched quickier had he done that....then you would be saying, he shouldnt have went to the body so much...
Kevin lole from Yahoo said at the beginning of the 11th Cotto's trainer said to Bayless stop the fight......Bayless asked Cotto and talked to the doc and decided to let it go another round. How many more punches was Cotto supposed to take before he lost a decision? I mean do you want him walking around like Freddie? Or should he be in a Coma? I personally thought they should have stopped it after the 9th.
were u watching another fight? there was a round where pac just stood against the rope and let cotto pound him to the body until his heart's content.
Pac literally was inviting Cotto to hit him to the body. I agree that Cotto should have focused his attack a bit more to Pac's body but it's unlikely that it would have changed the outcome one bit.
He was working Pac's body but Pac was working Cotto's body also and Cotto was the one who kept bending in pain when Pac would hit him to the body.
I said it before.....PAC would ultimately nullify the Cotto body attack which he did. The movement and spuratic offense...in and out, side to side, lead right, jab just made it a puzzle for Miguel and he couldn't mount the kind of offesne he planned for. If cotto had gone to the body more he would have gotten tagged earlier and been KO'd faster. For Cotto to beat PAC he would need a 3rd arm.. ANd that ain't a diss for miguel. He's a very good fighter....he was just in there with a Great one.
