I don't know about Alvarez. I personally think he's nothing special, but the others is about right. Maidana is just sorry.
No...not "this". You both proved you don't know what you are talking about. Look it up. Matter of fact you don't even need to...just look at the most successful punches consistently landed against one of the best to ever use that style... a straight jab.
Maidana barely landed any of his punches because of the shoulder roll. How could it possibly be designed to block straights and not looping shots? The right hand covers the entire right side of his face and will switch to the left side to block shots. It's one or the other. He's not going to leave his hand in the middle of his own vision to block a straight shot. He dodges straight punches by moving backwards and trying to use the left shoulder to parry them away. To do this, it takes his entire body (which he's awesome at using) while using his hand takes no effort at all. The straight punch requires Floyd to use so much more of his body to defend, and some guys have the speed to get down the pipe quicker. And for his body, just hold your arms up yourself in May's stance. The lead arm is straight down, covering the left side of the ribs. The right elbow is tucked into his side and can easily slip down to defend. Once again, it's the lead arm that has to block the body and Floyd, instead of moving the arm, will use his body movement to parry the shot away. That's why I fancy a fight with a dude like Khan for May. Khan will make him work so much more than other opponents will and I want to see if May can hold up to the work.
Then again, utilizing your straight shots on a guy like Mayweather is a whoooooooooole nother story haha. The speed which he can parry your shots with his shoulder is twice as fast as most people punch.
Arguably, Hatton had the best success against Mayweather. He didn't seem to be able to cope with Hatton's tactics early on... so much so the ref had to start stepping in if Hatton got within breathing distance of Mayweather. Saying that, Mayweather would still have won I think.
So I guess the really question is who can do that to Floyd for a full 12 rds all the while Floyd adjusts? :think
I don't !! Every conventual style fighter Kahn faces he eats a left hook!! Why, You ask? Because his right hand is lazy as it is fast. Khan look good against South paw only because he can land his right hand and not worry about getting caught . But against conventional fighters, he fall in after throwing his right and is tagged.. i see floyd removing Kahn right hand and leaving him lost through most of the fight, until khan become desperate or frustrated and tries go right after Floyd. once he does that he's done. khan speed is extremely over rated and has been made a non factor by some of box old,non elite and elite fighters.
LMAO That was what?? Almost three years ago???? Cotto is done Trout already spank his ass the Martinez fight is fooling a lot of you.
Maidana wasn't paid off. Floyd was very concerned about the rematch . He'd underestimated Maidana & came unstuck because for once he had an Honest straight down the line referee. He lost that fight but his Vegas homie judges looked after him. So he hired A minder , Kenny Bayless, to double as referee. Bayless stopped Maidana from fighting he was yelling STOP!! every time Maidana attacked. Joe Cortez would be proud of the way Bayless officiated. The piece de la resistance was the look of panic on Bayless face when Floyd screamed like a woman claiming Maidana had bitten him ROFL The look said "What the heck do I do now" ? Bayless knew all Floyd wanted was a way out he wanted Maidana DQ'd. Then when he took a point from Maidana for elbows, something Floyd does every fight unpenalised, that was the straw that broke the camels back Given a lavel playing field I could name 4 or 5 guys that could beat Mayweather that's why he wont fight them
the only thing cotto taught anyone is how to cry like a little ***** after losing a unanimous decision.
