Cotto is a legitimate two-division champ. Hype-job Huggy-bear Hatton lost that Collazo fight on my card, and then ran his little midget-looking ass back down to 140. How many tomato cans did Hatton go through before fighting for a title? 40? Cotto moved up, dominated, and keeps dominating. Judah was a bigger win than Castillo based on Castillo's condition in his first fight at 140 and Judah's effort against Mayweather.
He's hit the canvas as many times as Hatton. Once. Each time he was hurt he KTFO his opponent. Defense has improved since both of those fights.
I don't have the time or will to look for threads where people claim he would beat Trinidad prime for prime but it has been said more than plenty. I never said a fraud. Hypejob. When people hype him to destroy Mosley in 6 or sooner not giving Mosley a chance, when people say he would beat PBF and would destroy Hatton and fails miserably than yes he was to a great extent a hypejob, especially considering he has never fought and elite fighter.
i was backing you up. Calzaghe nuthugger who started the thread brought up Hatton. no need to take it personally buddy. I was on your side.:smoke
did he go down? or did he regain his composure and knock chop chop out? cus' thats what the great ones do.
Sorry, son.... You're an idiot. Cotto may be overrated by many people, and HBO is probably exaggerating his abilities, but your logic is rediculous. You're suggesting that Hatton is somehow better than Cotto because he beat Kostya and Kostya beat Judah.... C'mon, man. Hatton's win was a little discredited by the fact that he had Kostya's right hand under his left armpit throughout the entire fight, and the ref failed to warn him. Also, Although it appeared that Judah was completely KTFO in his fight with Tszyu, the fact is; had he taken a few seconds to regain his equillibrium, he would have been able to stay on his feet after getting up. And finally, the night Cotto beat Judah, Judah was putting on one of his best performances. He beat a fighter who is known for not living up to his high potential, but fought as well as he could have and still got knocked out by Cotto...
Shotgun comes on talking **** about Cotto and whining about how Hatton should be considered better cus he beat a top-10 P4P fighter past his prime having fought once in 2 years in a dirty ass fight. Cotto is not over-rated, it will be a great fight tomorrow night regardless. Cotto KO1 Shotgun any day of the week. Crybaby Shotgun as usual ran away when people made valid points, so i guess this thread is dead.
Yeap. If he beats Shane tomorrow, I'll give him due credit and he's the real deal. But until he beats a real A-level opponent, he is no better than Valero to me. Great record with no real win against a solid opponent. Not that I say he's no good. He just still have to prove it [at least to me].
How can anyone call an undefeated fighter overrated? Until he loses to someone he is not suspected to lose to he clearly isn't overrated. If he beats the guy u say will beat him u have clearly underrated Cotto. At this point all that saying Cotto is overrated is just people running their mouths.
Weres Relentless on this discussion. Cotto's biggest nuthugger. Look i like Cotto and think he is great for our sport but until tommorow the jury is still out in my opinion if he wins it will be good but if he loses all the hype must stop over him.
to a degree i agree with you, but cottos opponents have been very solid c- to b+. i'd consider hatton more of a hype job than cotto. if you look at their last 10 opponents cottos opponents stand out better.
