cotto will b fine as long as he doesnt go after margo right away. he is still a top fighter and can get even better if he can work on his defensive issues. An excuse is an excuse, im surpised cotto bothered to offer one.

A good rest and not getting your nose broke early in a fight can do wonders for you.

I can't wait for the rematch. I don't think it's set in stone that Margo will win like many here do. Cotto has a lot to get over, mentally and physically, but if he he can enter the ring 100% fit and focused he could win.

Fighters have to make excuses to themselves. Psychological coping mechanism.

I think he got too cocky and Margo beat him back to earth. Evidence of this is early on in the fight how he would land a right hand and then "calmly" hold the right hand up in the air. I didn't see him doing that in the late rounds, and I guaruntee he won't be doing it in the rematch.

  9. He got beat down the last 3 rounds, and was running to survive before he quit, there even shouldn't be a rematch the fight wasn't close enough to warrant one and had a conclusive ending, Cotto's to short, small, weak for Margarito anyways..
Id rather see Cotto-Clotty...:yep or Cotto Hatton.

cotto clottey might end up a lot like cotto margarito. clottey is a huge ww and has underrated offensive skills. plus, cotto wont break down his winky like guard like he did to the smaller men he fought.

Agree............he got hit WAY too many times later on in the fight and I think his conditioning (or lack thereof) did him in.

The fight wasn't close to warrant a rematch? Are you ****ing serious? Cotto did pretty well, having his nose broken. I see no other guy as tough as Cotto who could have resisted all that. Your comment is truly ignorant and stupid. Cotto deserves a rematch because a) the first fight was really competitive for many rounds (cotto landed many shots as well) and b) for the simple reason cotto was man enough and brave enough to fight margo, while others were constantly ducking him. Cotto was the champ and was defending his title; he deserves a rematch and more.

Great Point, I saw that he did that in the replay and was like... huh?:D Margarito made him pay for that.
