He has never fought less than three times a year his entire career until 2008 following the loss to margarito . . . very busy schedule for a fighter at the top.

Cotto will be stopped before 6 if a rematch ever takes place.
(There is nothing in Miguel's make that can help him)

All the training in the world can't increase your ability to give & take.
(He can't take what he gives)

Sounds like a bunch of BS to me. He was fighting on a pretty decent schedule and looked as good as he's ever looked for those first 5 rounds against Margarito so I doubt he was over-worked or over-trained. Guy is just making up psychological reasons for his loss so he can cope with the mental devastation.

Nice to hear from him though.

I agree. Cotto looked very wary of Margarito all through the fight, he fought like he wasn't sure he could beat him. (Despite the biased hysterics from the commentary team)

Now he knows he can't beat him, it will be even easier for Margarito. The best thing Cotto can do is forget all about a rematch.

Exactly. It is ridiculous to say he is making up "excuses".

After the fight and in the months since it, he has been really gracious in congratulating Margo as the best man that night. He did not say he was weight drained, or blamed his trainer like DLH does every time. Simple. He took the beating like a man and is moving on. The guy's a warrior.

And of course he can beat Margo in a rematch if he makes some adjustments. Cotto is a great fighter, he is no bum.

I am rooting for Cotto to win the rematch lol. Sometimes this happens to fighters. Cotto had to refesh himself...charge his battery, and if he can make 147 comfortably again after the time off, I expect him to outclass AM in the rematch lol...

Cotto might lose again, but he does rematches:lol:. AM has not done 4 rematches in his career. Why?:dead

I don't understand why people keep dwelling on Cottos defence so much. I think he showed very good defense versus Margo....I think he has better defense than shane and Delayhoya ever had. I think he's even a better all around boxer than either one of them ever was....Cotto just got winded in the Margo fight.

It only impresses me that Cotto continually speaks in the plural. Shows how tied he is to his team and why he won't get rid of his trainer even if he trains himself because his trainer isn't talking to him (why I really think he lost the fight).

Cotto made Margarito look like Gomez for the first 5 or 6 rounds so don't give us that crap. We've all seen the fight at least a half dozen times so you wont fool anyone by saying that Cotto doesnt deserve to be in the ring with Tony.
Also, Cotto should be appreciated for fighting the best out there. He took on Mosely and Margarito and always gives a good show. What the hell more do you want from the man. Try showing some respect.

As a Margorito fan my only concern is that he may never be able to scale the height he did that night mentally and physically.
