Cotto suffered from a broke jaw or broken nose ...

ive had my nose broke and its very uncomfortable, couldn't imagine fighting like that

 

margo caught cotto with a dangerous punch after a cotto flurry in the 1st round, that caused the broken nose, but i think that cotto was hurt by the body punches more, i can't remember what round it was but margo give him a left uppercut to the body and cotto just walked back onto the ropes. margo got cottos respect from the body punch.

 

i think both had broken noses

 

It was a headbutt (accidental) that caused the broken nose for miguel

 

Cotto got his ass beat... thats the only fact we know right now. I doubt he had a broken jaw. A broken noise maybe. But that doesn't mean Cotto would have or should have won the fight. Personally, based on what I saw last night Margo wins any ways....hell if they fight again maybe he breaks something else. Like ribs or something. Thats just what MArgo does.

 

I am a huge cotto fan and maybe cotto did have a broken nose but this is the hurt game ,dont make excuses for cotto, margarito maybe had a broken nose aswell, cotto just quit from exhaustion due to relentless pressure from margarito the body shots took his legs away and margaritos bomb proof chin broke his heart,cotto had no answer in the end and run out of gas i have never seen cotto as the type of fighter to be on his toes trying to be elusive it is not him.margarito is one tough mofo and his plan worked to a t. he is a nightmare for anyone .

 

I just rewatched the fight and didn't Cotto took the knee before corner threw in towel? Even Jim Lampley says Cotto gave up on his own will, therefore the towel was thrown in.

 

Cotto had his nose broken off the first flush right hand Tony landed.

Then sometime later he got cut on his lower eyelid, was complaining to his corner about it.

Then I think the uppercuts started some bloodflow in his mouth. And I know his body was hurting.

He was in a bad way. The corner couldn't have stopped it at a better time.

 

Naw, I'm pretty sure it was the first real good right hand Margarito landed. I'll have to watch it again but I'm pretty sure because I remember commenting on when it happened.
