Of course, and he can use it as a bargaining chip for something else.

But the HGH myth was already knocked down by Conte. He said he sees very little benefit from HGH for a boxer. One other thing of note, WADA has been testing for HGH since 2004 and has never had a positive test. NEVER, in five years of testing.

Seems like a bunch of bickering about nothing, to me.

Me too. It wouldn't surprise me if it's all just a PR stunt before the actual PR machine gets rolling. It keeps the fight in the news doesn't it!? At least until 24/7 anyway...

Not one person is disagreeing with Cotto on this thread and nor should they. But its funny how many people will say crap if Mayweather had said it.

Travis Tygart, the CEO of USADA, disputed Arum’s contention and said a combination of blood and urine testing is required to be effective. He also said that to be most effective, athletes would have to be subject to random testing while out of competition.

If any testing is conducted in the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight outside of what is mandated by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, it would be during competition since the fighters are scheduled to start training in early January.

“To have an effective program, you have to collect blood and urine,” Tygart said. “The reason for that is that there are some things that are only detected in urine and there are some prohibited drugs that are both very lethal and potent from a performance-enhancing standpoint that are only detected in blood. One of those, for example, is human-growth hormone (HGH). There is no urine-based tested for human-growth hormone. It doesn’t show up in the urine. It’s only a blood-based test. That’s true of a number of prohibited substances, particularly those that would enhance and aid a boxer.”

    Conte also said

Conte believes that blood testing is vital in this instance. But not for the reason everyone thinks.

He emailed Maxboxing,:'In my opinion, blood testing for the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight is more important for detecting possible blood doping or use of EPO than it is for human growth hormone. Measuring hematocrit levels (percentage of red blood cells to total whole blood volume) is very important. For example, even without a positive urine test for EPO, cyclists are temporarily suspended for two weeks if their hematocrit is greater than 50%. An elevated hematocrit can provide a significant advantage to a fighter by enhancing oxygen uptake and utilization. This would benefit a fighter in training and especially during the later rounds of a fight."

Blood loss? Are you serious? What you think there going to do? Drain him of a few pints? So far iv seen PBF give into to all Pac's demands. Now Mayweather Snr has no business making lewd accusations that Pac is on hormones. But **** me when $25m is on the line Pac needs to be ready to suck it up and take it like a man. Either way PBF is subject to the same tests so that makes it an even playing field. All im seeing here is Pac ***** and whine and want every single advantage inhis favor. Just ****ing fight already.

Not sure how true that is, though. Apparently, according to one of the posters here who has worked in a narcotics testing lab, it isn't. They do not test for HGH directly in urine (not sure whether they actually can or not), however they can test the urine to see if specific metabolic by-products show up in the urine. So therefore it amounts to the same thing.

The only problem I see after that is ensuring the **** sample collected is actually geniunely from the test subject :**** :cus

Did Cotto really say that or was it just his publicist who wrote it?
