Don't feel like you have to apply that rule solely to Khan threads.

I agree with some of go getta's points too. Khan defo has more trouble with the reckless pressure when they come in throwing kitchen sink than educated pressure.

i think khan would outbox cotto for a few rounds , then cotto would catch up to him. the interesting poart would be if cotto had managed to get him out of there before he gasses. as if khsn survives rounds 4 -9 i could see him coming back into it at the end due to his superior conditioning.

this is ignoring the obvious weight 147/154 issues, purely on technical skills.

i also thought khan beat peterson even with deductions though i only watched the fight once. as I recall quite a few people on here did but time has changed it into peterson definitely won.

Ok let's take this from my reading of the the match up, things noting when pitting someone against I look for foot speed around the ring, type of pressure, types of punches thrown, reaction times before attacking, workrate.

These few things are geared towards Khan having a good chance to win a figh or not.

Boxing most times relies on simple factors, eg the fighter who lands more in a round wins that round most times, so you think does Khan's style after noting Cotto style and trends can win rounds on him?

Why so much focus on foot speed and cutting off the ring?, why focus on reaction time before getting off? As we now Khan has problems with pressure but not all pressure is the same, walk down/reckless pressure and very less thinking time are the two things which panic Khan, put him at unrest.

Does Cotto pose those two things, in my view no, not that type of pressure, Cotto is a good counter puncher and has good timing, but Cotto don't like rushing the fight like to set himself right before he gets off, I think Khan moves around the ring faster and not allowing to pin himself on the ropes like vs Maidana and Peterson at times should outpoint Cotto in the middle of the ring, Khan has a great jab just like Cotto but in this fight beats Cotto to the punch most times, Cotto would follow Khan around the ring by the time panic kicks into his game Khan will be way up on the cards.

Cotto in my view has to KO Khan to beat him.

Whereas Peterson and Maidana are Ali like on theirs??
Cotto would annihalate Khan, Khan couldnt possibly keep Cotto off of him. Also Khan would be a fairly small Welterweight, and Cotto a fully fledged light middle, so no way this fight ever happening anyway.
I think if Berto v Ortiz dont happen, we'll see Khan v Ortiz, and I think thats a much more realistic proposition for Khan, than a Cotto fight.

If Khan's power has some improvement at 147, then good things can happen, will his chin hold up there? well it's held better at 140 then his 135 days.

why would his power improve by moving up in weights?

Most fighters lose power as they move up!

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

That doesn't at all read like the analysis of someone who first decided would win the fight, then chose how they would win. Not at all. :patsch

Type of weight added in boxing when moving up is mostly muscle and good hydration most times boxer's up in weight when they are having trouble making weight or finished there business at the weight.

I feel with Khan it's a bit of both, hopefully he can add a bit of weight to his skinny legs which look like sticks, have stronger legs should give him a stronger base to fire from.

Im not sure how tall he is, but I was meaning in the near future, possibly even next fight.
Unless youre exceptional, you dont jump 2 weight divisions and fight a guy like Cotto. Khan is absolutely nothing special at all bar his handspeed, and Im not sure its anything to write home about after the 1st few rounds.
Maidana and Peterson both seemed to have his number once it got past the opening stages.
