Cotto there for the taking, Khan would do a great number on him..

I dont think this fight will ever happen, I was just giving my 2 pence, people seems to get to worked up but it's their right to disagree if they want.

Cotto at 154, Khan right now at 140, does not seem like it will happen soon.

Ortiz at 147 will be a good test for Khan, he has power and decent speed.

Utter crap, Darni. Shot-putters don't have power because they have big legs, they have power because they have technique that uses those legs for extra leverage. Same with fighters. Hearns was vicious because he had leverage. Khan's balance and his tendency to bounce around means he will not get more powerful just by having stronger legs.

    he'll just have stronger legs.

Khan may sit on his punches more, but his core strength will not increase. He will not be muscling Cotto, who Shane Mosley said was one of the physically strongest men he's fought, around. And he doesn't have the crisp delivery of his punches to really hurt any world class opponent.

Alas he'd need a totally different mindset to pull that off. Jim Watt kept saying he was being macho letting Peterson tee off, but I think he's just got no sense when under fire.

He will always back up to the ropes because he isn't calm under pressure.

That's the bottom line. Darni's argument has no legs.

Yeah. He just isn't that good. Darni needs to accept that.

I guess we will see if his power improves when he moves up.

Note you say will only have stronger legs, but the legs play their part in the technique too, the whole body does in that sense, surely then having stronger legs would help his power?

I've never known fighters to get more powerful as they move up in weight. Juan Manuel Marquez didn't get more powerful as he got older, he had the technique to get leverage on his shots more.

look at the difference between him and Khan and you'll see why khan is not a hard puncher.

Seen a very recent pic of his skinny legs, all I can say they need to be beffing up, staying at 140 you can only work in that limit, legs must get over looked no weight/added muscle to play with.

    147 can help that problem.

You've got this all wrong Darn.

Khan needs to be looking at his 'real' base. His feet.

If he could grow those to a 12 or 13, he'd be punching like a ****ing mule.

Or he could just also be a bit tight at the weight which could also now effecting his power.

Note since Khan turned pro 7 years ago, he has only moved up 5lbs in weight.

5lbs is not alot in that amount of time.

Darni, face it. Khan can not punch. You can't turn people into punchers. You either punch or you don't, the margins for improving it or not great. Even if he did plant his feet more his dodgy mandible would more often be in punching range.

Manny didn't get more powerful at all, he just could crack in general. He's carried his power to some extent, but it's his speed and accuracy that lets him hurt people much bigger. He's no killer at 147.

    Paulie? You're kidding, I guess.

Ortiz hasn't carried ****. He's got some force, but he's never stopped a world-class opponent. The guy has no finishing skills and was flattered by Berto just giving up when he couldn't take him out.

Khan wasn't a puncher at 135, he's not looking like one at 140, so it would be something of a shock if he became one at 147 and 154 just because he has bigger legs.

Cotto vs Khan is quite simply a MAN against a BOY

We've seen Khan fold under pressure against Peterson and go into a shell and almost get KO'ed off Maidana when hurt.

what the hell do you think miguel cotto would do to him? you really think a guy that couldnt handle breidis prescott for 1 single minute could last 12 rounds with miguel ****ing cotto? your mad mate

Honestly, do you understand fighters at all? Sergio Martinez hasn't become a harder puncher at 160, he's choosing to sit down on his shots because a) he has unorthodox but effective punching technique, and b) he has a chin and knows he can risk getting hit to land one of his own.
