I actually slightly favor Heiland if that fight really happens.

Why not these guys are okay with GGG fighting anything at 160 and praise him, Canelo is fighting an inactive James Kirkland, Pac fight a washed up Rios and Chris what's his name Algeria and it was okay...

Heiland will win this! Very good fighter, very busy and doesn't relent for a second. Like he did to Macklin he will ware the old geezer down but I doubt he will KO Cotto but I see a decision win for Heiland

    source?

barcham and bogart are right. Shaw has been talking about t. johnson & heiland fighting, so this is unlikely.

Cotto should go back to 54 where he belongs.

TBH I will stop dumping on Cotto if he takes this fight. While I think he should fight GGG, it was his reported looking to bring up a LWW that I found garbage.

If he fights a rated guy at 160 there is no reason to hate.

    Per Fat Dan, HBO would do Cotto-K9 non-PPV then Cotto-Canelo on PPV in the Fall... that's where we see Mauricio's make-or-break. If he doesn't strip Cotto, he's a p u s s y.

He's definitely better, but K9 could be more entertaining based on his ugly style.

Well, that's what Gary Shaw wants. He promotes Johnson. His guy is behind two other fighters - Golovkin and Heiland.

What does Heiland want? What does his promoter want the WBC to do?

That's more relevant than what Gary Shaw wants.

If Cotto vacates, the "interim" champ Golovkin can just fight the #1 rated Heiland.

Nobody has to let Johnson (and Shaw) in at this time.

If Johnson was rated #1, think Gary Shaw would be pushing for a fight with Heiland? No. He'd say, "We're next!"

Mauricio won't know what to do.

Cotto has the WBC World Middleweight title. Golovkin has the WBC "interim" Middleweight Title. Heiland has the WBC International Middleweight Title. Johnson has the WBC Silver Middleweight Title.

His response to everything is "let's give them a belt." But they've all got WBC belts. So he'll be totally lost.

On a side note: Do you get the idea there was a real "belt" fetish in that Sulaiman family?

I picture Christmas morning, and every box under the tree has another green belt in it. And all the Sulaimans - young and old - are excited, no matter how many times they open a box and there's a WBC belt inside.
