So many accounts floating about. I thought the inspector originally felt the wrap and pad and said both felt normal to him. I'm not sticking up for Margo or trainer here. While they did something dishonest, I'm still waiting to try and find out 'how' dishonest. Moist, tightly wrapped gauze? How 'brick like' is that? Obviously they felt it afforded some advantage, but it sounds more like protection allowing him more punching power and less like brass knuckles.

Never once did I say that Cotto has faced **** opposition. I actually remarked that he has a quality resume. However. many of his opponents were in fact handpicked. However, that's a good way to bring a young fighter up. They need to fight handpicked fighters that will expose them to different styles but don't have the attributes needed to beat said fighter.

I remarked that you need to be able to punch and take a punch to beat Cotto. Corley can't punch and Quintana and Torres can't take a punch. None of these guys are terrible fighters, but they're not elite fighters eithers. Corlety was on the downside of his career, Torres was a late replacement who built his resume off of cans, and there's a reason that Top Rank paid Urkal step aside money in order to get Miguel a fight with Quintana for a vacant title.

I don't feel Cotto is overrated. However, he might not be as hardly regarded as he is now without Top Rank.

Of course he can. There's also some Welters out there that he doesn't match up well with and that he would probably lose to. That's part of the sport. However, Arum has done a good job of putting him in there with good fighters are made for his style and has steered clear of good fighters that present too many problems for Cotto.

Probably because you're too stupid to realize that I know what I'm talking about. Just kidding with you, disagreements happen all the time

For the longest, Margo was underpromoted by Arum. Despite this, he stuck it out with Top Rank. Now that he's facing a crisis, it's only right that Top Rank sticks by him.

They don't have to have great power, just proven power. When he was at 140, Tszyu, Hatton, Gatti, and Mayweather were all guys with proven power and sturdy chins. At WW, Margo, Mosley, Mayweather, Williams, and Clottey are all top fighters(that fight or fought at WW when Cotto was there) that fit that bill. Cotto has fought two of these guys. One guy beat him to a pulp and the other guy gave him all he could handle.

Honestly this post is ridiculous....what fighters btwn 140 and 147 have great power plus a great chin?

I'd like to here these names....cuzz as far I'm know of he fought the only 2, Margarito and Mosley, and I wouldn't even saythwy count cuzz neither fighter has KO power

Fighters like that are rare in boxing as far pound for pound goes, so to think a fighter would find some between 2 divisions is stupid

Cotto's been in with all kinds of opposition from boxers to punchers to counterpunchers, outside of his keep busy fights there's nothing handpicked about his opposition

Monstar, I want you to go through my posts and point out where I said you needed great power. I simply said to beat Cotto you need to be able to punch and take a punch. Mayweather can punch and can take a punch. However, he does not have great power.

I've already covered this. Seriously, adding words that I never used will change a point entirely.

Damn, is this whole post based off of an argument that I never ever even made?

I've already remarked that Cotto has faced quality opposition, and that he's faced a multitude of different styles. However, most of his opposition has been handpicked. Why do you think he's 28 and has only collected vacated titles? Why do you think almost all of his opponents either had below average power, below average chins, or a combination of both? Look at his career at WW. Mosley and Margo were stiff challenges. However, Quintana, Gomez, Jennings, and Judah were all handpicked(although to Cotto's credit, Quintana and Judah were handpicked fighters that at least had some talent). Urkal was a mando, but he was another Cotto opponent that couldn't punch.

    Again...more Arum BS.

Answer me this. What WW has fought all the big names that apparently pose problems for people?

Williams lost to Quintana once already. Margarito is the only person that has fought a large portion of the WW division. This might be possibly why he is being treated the way he is by Arum.

But Clottey only faced two and lost one. (Although I'm not sure if Judah was as regarded as a big player anymore at that point)

Williams faced two and lost one.

Cintron faced one and lost ****in' twice.

Shane faced two and lost one.

Cotto faced three and lost one. (With a big shadow hanging over it)

Margarito has faced five and lost two. (Huge ass shadow over these wins)

So really cmon man...don't give me that ****.

Who the **** at 140 and 147 did Mayweather, Clottey, Williams or any other top WW face that posed problems for them and didn't look or appear handpicked?

Mayweather can punch??? His power at 147 is average at best....look at who he's stopped for proof at that, hell look at who he's fought, he couldn't even stop Judah, and u think he can punch?......but anyways that's an entirely different topic

So u base this whole bull**** theory of yours off of the fact that he hasn't faced any1 who can punch and take a punch right (though that's bull**** in itself seeing as he's already face the top 2 guys who fit that desciption) Let's try this again on Cotto's way up who did who skip over that fits this description? And don't try and give me FMJ, cuzz even if he did fit the description he opted to retire over fighting the winner of Mosley-Cotto

Varg, you're making the same mistakes that many people on this forum make when they argue. You're attacking points that I never made and you're introducing red herrings. If you're going to debate what I say, then we're not going to get anywhere unless you stick to arguing against points that I actually make and unless you make counter arguments that are relevant to the points that I make. Bringing up the competition level of other fighters is not relevant to any point that I made regarding Cotto and his relationship with Top Rank.

Mayweather was well on his way to a stoppage against Judah before he was fouled and the fight was stopped for 5 minutes. Had that not happened he may have very well stopped Judah in the 11th(the same round in which Cotto stopped Judah).

Monstar, we will get nowhere if you keep arguing against points that I never made. Not once did I say that he never fought a guy who couldn't punch and take a punch. In fact, I specifically remarked that he faced two guys with these qualities in the form of Margo and Mosely. Margo beat him to a pulp and Mosley gave him all he could handle(this only serves to strenghten my arugment)

At 140, Floyd, Hatto, Tszyu, and Gatti all fit this profile. You're crazy if you don't think Floyd fits this profile. Mayweather stopped 2 of 3 opponents at 140(he knocked down Corley multiple times) He also stopped 2 of his 4 oppenents at WW(Judah was on his way to being stopped before setting off a brawl). At 147, Williams, Margo, Floyd(when he was there), Clottey, Mosley, and Margo fit the bill. He's faced two guys on this list and struggled with both of them.

No that **** is rellavent, the facts are right there in front of you....u basically trying to say the *****s a cherrypicker when it's clear as day he's the complete opposite in comparison to the other big shots in his division
