[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTEAdlLzPs8[/ame] here is some cotto training footage. i think he shows some pretty good speed 4 minutes into the video on the mitts. of course he is not gonna show much but its a glimpse. thoughts??
I know its niave to make a judgement based on little clips of training, but since its all i have, out of all ive seen of cotto training... probably ever, i just never see the intensity you would like to see. Obviously, it would be stupid to assume he never has it, but its just something i noticed.... when it shows pac training, for the most part you see that, yet rarely with cotto, and in 24/7 hes sparring what.... 8 rounds? 4 each with 2 fighters? i dont know.... i dont know if its just because his uncle is gone, or just the way the video has been edited or what, but it seems to me that cotto is having a relatively soft camp. I would normally say well whatever works... but its not like cotto doesnt struggle with stamina sometimes. i dont know, probably just mindless ramblings from a concerned fan on the eve of his biggest fight lol... i liked that video though, thanks for sharing it
i agree with you. i said in another thread that i think he needs more intense training. i noticed that as well. i dont see any intesity from his camp. i just hope its the part of his training that HE DOES NOT let the public see.
I sort of agree. In 24/7, it showed his camp doing the things his uncle didn't approve of. I'm still not sure though - Pac's training may look more intense, but is has also been so condensed that it has to be this intense. Remember Cotto started training about 1.5-2 months before Pac. I hope he hasn't over-trained.
Can't help but notice how those pads sound after he pounds them, And that left hook is coming extremely nice! Thank for the video!
At this point in Cotto's career his camps should be based more on conditioning and endrance management. I feel this camp was focused on simply tweaking his fight game in preperation for anything pac can bring to the table. This probably the only time in his career where he is on the other side of the public pressure microscope. Cotto's camp are always deliberate and monotone, it leaves the viewers with a feeling of void but its part of that troubled introverted ora that he exudes. Cotto's speed, strenght and boxing capabilities are still questioned at this point in his career which has played to his advantage in the ring, if it ant broke don't fix it....just upgrade it with windows 7...lol!
Gato story seems more believable now, it looks like team Cotto is just working up on building Cotto's confidence. If Cotto loses this fight, I have a feeling he will come out that he doesnt feel any passion for the sport anymore and seriously contemplate retirement.
I agree, honestly Cotto's sparring is the major issue of concern for me, not only in the choice of sparring partners but only 8 rds of sparring this deep into camp?? I'm just hoping that's an old sparring session and not a recent one as I think Cotto should be sparring 12 rounds by now.
That's funny, and here as a Pac fan I'm pretty concerned with how Pac's camp is going and based on the little I've seen in Cotto's camp, I have a feeling that their training camp is more intense and focused. But it looks like maybe for Cotto fans it's the opposite. The nerves are getting to the fans!
