Why blame Manny for all of this? I mean the other fighter has an option to say no, so it their Greed that lead them to what they got, dont hate the playa hate the game

Isal was only fine with the game when his hero, DLH, was the one calling shots.

I wouldnt say thats it... I am simply asking why people cry about the catch weights when the other fighter agreed.. I mean they agreed to it the moment that happens the moment they sign all excuses are out the window

It is obviously the other fighters choice. But really, who will pass on a MEGA PAYDAY? Not many would, unless you're Mayweather or now Cotto who are rolling in though, enough where they won't compromise there physical condition for a fight with Pac.

Hell, if they asked me to come in at 126 to fight Pac for 5 million, I as sure hell would despite me weighing 160.

But its rather annoying to have the fighter of the decade continually fighting fighters or asking fighters to fight outside their best weight, wether they fight at 140, 147, or 154.

He asked two 140 pound fighters to move up.
He asked three 154 fighters to move down.
He asked two 147 fighters to move down.
He asked a 135 fighter to move down.

geez. Fighter of the decade eh?

But each and every one of them agreed Obviously they thought they were on even terms thats why they took the fight.
again there really is no argument when they have agreed, and yes fighter of the decade for a guy who jumped 2 divisions and dominated in most of his fights at the higher weights I can see how he would get that also being in a few classics over the last 10 years I can see how he would get that.

Cotto, Delahoya,Margarito, and Marquez were the only catch weight fights he had.
Cotto fought in his own division agreed to 145, weighed in at 146 in his previous fight also stated the weight was not an issue after the fight.
DLH planned to fight May at 147, Floyd retired he called on Pac, brought pac up 2 divisions while Oscar came down 3 pounds from his last fight.
Margarito @150 does anybody really give a **** about this?

and Marquez that wasnt a catch weight in the sense to drain him Marquez is a small welter really topped out at 140 they met in the middle nothing wrong there either

You can't talk sense with crazy fans. Since DLH was planning to move to 147 before Pac, is that even a catchweight fight?

They complain about catchweights because they are given a pre-existing excuse to run with. Whether or not the other guy was drained doesn't even matter with these idiots. If a guy comes down even a pound, he's drained!! Personally, I don't give a **** about catchweight fights. If two guys want to meet somewhere, fine. For ****'s sake, a weight class comvers a SPAN, not a single weight. The ONLY thing I have to say about catchweights are, don't agree if you cannot make the weight. Because if you agree to a weight you cannot make or fight effectively, you're wasting everyone's time.

exactly and if these fighters see that two pounds here and there has effected Cotto, and Margarito then why are they agreeing? if its their own greed its their fault...

I recall Cotto saying he should have asked Manny for testing (something along those lines) in 2010 after he wouldn't test for Mayweather.

Manny just does not like drug testing for some reason.....

    Any thoughts as to why?

To thread topic, $7.5 is less than what he got for Floyd and he wouldn't have taken home as much in PPV as he did with Floyd either, as the revenue would mos def not come anywhere near $94 million.

Good for Cotto! Cotto a G! If Manny want the fight with the 3rd biggest draw in the sport, then he gonna have to move up to 154. Cotto won't drain himself again.

Lance, that's what happened . . . it does not make them bad people just smart. Every fighter('s team) calculate what the next move should be and how to best advance their career.

as for Cotto, people are saying its good for him and integrity and all that BS. I do not buy it! EVERY fighter is motivated by MONEY! I think Cotto believes he can make more money off of less risky fights (including not dropping down in weight). Cotto star is shining brighter than ever and he can make good money fighting almost anyone, so in the long run it makes more sense to say "screw you Bob"!

They were mostly exploited because not many would say NO to million dollar paydays and Pac's camp knows that is the case.

    It's abuse of power.

Well let them live the way Floyd does, put their health first and they wont find themselves in that situation its not like these fighters who did face Manny at a catch weight needed the money they made pretty darn good money before Manny.... they just wanted more, Much much more... and took the fight knowing they would have an excuse after they get whipped win win for the losers
