I find it odd that Arum wanted to have Cotto fight Chavez Jr before the end of the year as Miguel already advised him he was not going to fight until 2011 so his body could heal. It does seem odd that Arum would try to make a fight before then...perhaps Bob wanted Jr to have an easy title match.
Junior somehow thinks a win against Duddy puts him in line for a title shot.
I have never been a fan of Jr. as he struggled with unranked opposition and I hope Gomez puts him out.

I disagree with that, I mean Cotto's is the only draw in the U.S.A outside of PacWeather so it will be a money maker no matter what. His fight with Foreman had the highest rated HBO fight of this year.

Miguel Cotto has said several times that he plans on retiring from boxing soon and he doesn't want to fight much longer. He's even started promoting his own shows in order to have some type of career after Boxing is over.

I think Bob Arum is trying to desperately get one of his young lions a title especially Yuri Foreman or Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Both men are young fighters that have the potential to become marketable attractions, Foreman with Jews and Chavez Jr. with Mexicans. If he can some how get either man a title he can kill two brings with one stone by getting whom ever a win over a recognizable name plus a world title.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. isn't an elite fighter but he doesn't have the fighter mileage that Miguel Cotto has which makes Cotto some what vulnerable. Is he the better fighter, yes, but he isn't the fresher fighter and a bout with Chavez Jr. could be a lot tougher than some realize.

Foreman is older then Cotto. And with 154 starting to blossom, i dont think he holds much of a future as a top tier fighter (i hope he proves me wrong, id love to see Yuri get some good wins) I dont think Bob is going to try and put much stock into Yuri especially after seeing his knee problem.

Hope im wrong though, i really like Yuri and would love to see him have success at the higher levels. Id actually really be interested in a Yuri vs Angulo fight, or even Yuri vs Cintron, if he could beat those two it would transform his image and hed have his place near the tops of the division.
