I want to see if anything has changed since Cotto's most recent loss to Margarito?

If this fight were to happen, who do you guys have in this fight?

I'm going with Mayweather by TKO mid rounds --

Cotto would taste a nastier and more technical defeat than he did against Margarito.

Mayweather would break him down earlier and pay closer attention to the body and not get hit.

I made this thread because of all the talk of Mayweather coming back, there isn't many fighters that he could come back against and have a good fight --

Mosley - if he can beat Cotto in a rematch convincingly
Margarito - if he can bounce back from the Mosley loss
Cotto - if he can bounce back from the Margarito loss
Williams - if he can solidify himself as a true welterweight
Berto - if he can get a big fight

PBF would skill Cotto. Cotto's chin is shaky and PBF will definetely land flush shots all nite.

Cotto would get demoralized after getting punished for 9 rounds.

Cotto would not stand a chance against Mayweather ... Cotto is good but he's shown his true colors over his last few fights.

His movements were good enough to get past Mosley but didn't show against Margarito.

He's shown that he doesn't have a right hand

He's shown that he doesn't have good inside fighting skills

    He's a one handed fighter

    He's shown a suspect chin

He's shown that he doesn't like pressure on him

He's shown that he doesn't like body punches well

Cotto matches up better against Floyd than any other Welterweight today with the possible exception of Mosley. He's a skilled pressure fighter, excellent jab, sound defense, his chin is solid enough (he took flush shots from Margo, Mosley, and Judah. While not anything great, his chin is sturdy). Phsyically strong, great bodypuncher and heavy hands. Good speed as well.

Still, I'd favor Floyd to take a clear decision in a good fight. He's simply a better fighter, but no way it would be a mismatch or anything similar. Probably an 8-4 type decision, with a lot of competitive rounds.

Floyd UD, but he wouldn't KO him, Floyd is a safety first fighter. Margo kod Cotto by being on top of him every second of every round, something that Floyd won't do.

And I can't believe people STILL question Cotto's chin...

Pretty much. Cotto is extremely hard to put down or out. He's not the hardest guy in the world to hurt, but getting him out of there is well out of Mayweather's reach, IMV. You have to really lay it on the line to finish Cotto. That ain't Mayweather's style, literally or figuratively.
