So I figured out why Cotto is so ****y and relaxed about the Alvarez negotiations, which he seems to not care if it happens.

His plan b fight is already being negioatated for Summer in NY and the rumor in D.C. boxing community is that Barclay center in BK and Madison square guardan in Manhattan are throwing hard cash to have him regardless of who he fights.

I do think he should leave Andy Lee alone though, and think more so Jermain Taylor another washed, but good name to add to his resume. Andy Lee might be to big and skilled for him.

Lee is very uncoordinated. Cotto will be looking to get inside and under Lee and rip shots to the stomach. Lee has a decent punch, but he can be quite clumsy and sloppy at times

I don't know man, Lee is very rangy for that weight. If he hold on the inside it could he harsh. but then again he wouldn't walk out of BK or Manhattan with a decision.

Very winnable fight for Lee. Mistake by Cotto, he should take the Alvarez payday, or fight GGG.

I'm not saying Lee can't win. If he keeps Cotto at bay and lines him up with straight right hands, he can win a decision or stop Cotto late.

Lee has to face Billy Joe Saunders in March as a mandatory so talk of Lee-Cotto is a little premature.

Also, it'd do far less than a Canelo match would so not sure why Cotto would go for Lee instead unless he asks for too much in the negotiations with Canelo which could be happening

Lee is a southpaw so by straight right hands you mean.... jabs?

Yes. His jab needs to be in play. Not just to keep Cotto at bay, but to get the distance right for his left so he doesn't throw it too far or too close

Lee frustrates me as a Boxer. When he was a youngish pro he was all about Boxing cleverly, using his rangy jab and outclassing his opponents...now he's all about that one punch. Props, it got him a belt but I don't understand why he has abandoned his old style completely...a balance between the two and he'd be a very very good MW

Let's hope this fight happens. I can't see Cotto hanging with middleweights though.

that fight would probably make cotto more money than the canelo fight TBH. Andy lee would have no negotiating leverage.
