The question is if berto has the balls to step up to the plate and take the fight,,, i think this kid knows that all he has been fed are bums and that he has been set up to fail and to be EXPOSED as an extremely flawed fighter,, he is apparently ducking collazo and will probably do the same with cotto,,, its time to put up or shut up for berto and to finally prove that he more than a way overhyped paper champio the question is if berto has the BALLS to prove it,, i doubt it it looks like he want to keep that belt hostage by fighting a bunch of scrubs,,,,,

By the way Cotto by TKO in 6 and Collazo TKO in 11 or UD either fight we will finally see berto getting EXPOSED

Collazo has earned the shot!!! I feel this would be a great fight for Collazo to showcase his skills and to highlight Bertos many faults......In this fight:
    Collazo UD or late stoppage

    Now Cotto??

My condolences to the Berto family

I think Collazo could trouble Berto, but I think Berto could cause problems for Cotto. It is weird. I think fighting Cotto would drive Berto to bring out the best in himself, he has the speed to bother Cotto, neither guy has great defense and I think Berto has the better stamina. I would definitely rate a Cotto - Berto fight 50/50.

Berto - Collazo I would favor Collazo 60/40, just because I would think Berto would overlook him. I think Collazo's slickness, which somewhat bother Sugar Shane, would cause big problems for Berto and I don't know how he would deal with it.

Why all the hate for Berto? He's getting his feet wet as champion and has only made 1 defense. When Cotto was walking around with a WBO trash title fighting trash fighters at 140 he was getting praised like mad. He was looked at as a young champion getting ready to do some good things. Berto is on the same pace to the same thing but is getting hate? That's not fair at all. I think Berto has a good chance to beat Cotto, and what makes you think Collazo TKO's Berto in 11? Berto has an ok chin and has excellent stamina and Collazo is not a power puncher so what the hell gives you that conclusion?:nut

you need to watch a lot more boxing bro....and just an FYI
Anyone of Cottos defenses anytime are much > Forbes:deal

bambalan is infact correct.......The flaws outweigh the positive attributes by a landslide when it comes to Andre Berto

Thanks. I actually think Berto has a fair chance to upset Cotto, I just wouldn't bet on it.

EDIT: I think Gianluca Branco was a mandatory.

Branco=Forbes.....we can stop pretending now.. Just because Oscar couldnt KO Forbes doesnt make him any better than any other thoroughly schooled journeyman, this includes Branco

Why would Cotto KO Berto when he couldnt put away Malignaggi? You are talking about a guy whos better in nearly every area as an opponent.

No this fight would be close. I think Berto leaves himself open for counters too much, thats where the fight would hinge on.

I can't see this fight happening at least not for another year. Berto's handlers have been so careful with him that it would be shocking if they all of a sudden put him in with Cotto. They should give some strong considerations to Berto's mandatory in Collazo or other fighters like Quintana or Cintron who would all provide a stiff test in their own right. I will say however if a Berto/ Cotto fight does get made, I would give Berto a fair shot against Cotto based on speed and punching power. A lot of people seem to unjustifiably question Berto's chin and I think between him and Cotto that Cotto's has got the more suspect beard. Berto also has better stamina than Cotto so if the fight went 12 rounds I could conceivably see him winning on points. All that said Cotto would be the big favorite and deservingly so.

Exactly, Cotto is a proven fighter, we have to give him that. But Berto is unproven as of now, and that's where most people are basing their opinions on. It's true that Cotto may be too much for Berto to handle. But the truth is also that Berto has the potential to upset Cotto, especially coming from a devastating loss. So although I think Cotto is going to win, I have to say that Berto's chance to stardome is knocking at the door and he might just want it bad enough to raise to the ocassion making all the people who predicted a blow out against him looke like rookies who don't know anything about the sport.
