Malignaggi has boxing skills and a chin, two important things Berto doesnt have......along with ring intelligence......Berto gets raped now or in a year.....Berto simply doesnt have what it takes to be a top tier fighter let alone beat one......

Berto doesn't have the heart or experiece to beat Cotto now. He should first face Collazo then someone like Cintron before facing a true top contender like Cotto.

If Berto is unproven then how do you know this? Ok he was dropped by a flash knockdown by Cosme Rivera, but how does that make his chin weak? It's boxing and things happen. Secondly Malignaggi is a feather fisted fighter that CAN'T punch so he has to move around and box. Berto likes to engage and stand with guys. Malignaggi has to have good if not great fundamentals because he's can't stand and trade. To say Berto doesn't have what it takes is to early to say. It doesn't look like Shane is in a rush to fight him. And Shane is a "top tier" fighter.

Berto's power is WAY OVERRATED, in fact i dont think he is a really strong puncher,, Zab is a bigger puncher than berto

Look Dynamite, I'm really not hating on Berto at all. He's just vastly overrated. Based on his last performance against Forbes(which shouldve been a blank canvas) Berto was disappointing......The fight with Forbes told me a few things about Berto and they are:

    Berto has very good speed

Berto has extremely poor stamina(clinching your opponent after the 4th round is a good indicator here)

Berto has overrated and below average power

Berto is inaccurate despite being on the inside, he rarely lands clean and appears to be wild

Berto is has an average jab and nothing more

Bertos reflexes and timing are honestly in the mediocre-poor category

SOme of these things can be developed or modified but the most important and what I feel is the collosal failure is Bertos stamina......by contrast Collazo has great stamina and superb boxing skills...which is why Berto would fail horribly down the stretch.......and this is Collazo were talking about here:deal

That's a lie, he got caught with one punch and got up pretty quickly

Now Cotto was put on ***** street and almost knocked out by DeMarcus Corley.

I'm not saying Berto can beat everyone at 147, but people keep saying he's unproven(which he is) but write him off as if he's had his chances and blew them. The guy has only made 1 defense of his title, seemed to have learned from the rivera fight cause he pays better attention in his recent fights. And it's not like he's been wobbled or stunned or dropped a hand full of times. That's a weak chin to me. Berto has shown none of that.

Check out the avatar. Altough Estarda is an unheralded fighter you can't dispute that he has a tenacious come forward style and really digs in with his punches. He landed some good shots against Berto.

And yes I will agree that Berto hasn't been tested by a renown puncher but you cannot hold that against him and say his chin is questionable; its just like saying that he has an IRON chin but hasn't been tested. the truth is there is no real evidence that supports the theory that Berto has a suspect chin. And the truth also is that he hasn't been severly tested. We will all just have to wait and see.

Just look at Berto's ko percentage and WATCH the way he throws punches from different angles and the force behind his shots. :deal

KO percentage means jack **** when you faced a bunch of bums, and 4 of them have lasted the distance
