Went back 10 pages and couldn't find anything on this so here it is:

I think Berto might be a good matchup for Cotto's return after his first loss.

Though Cotto should beat him, Berto is no joke and so would be a big morale boost for Miguel and wold probably help get him back to feeling like the monster that he is.

Also, it's probably still early enough in Berto's career that the exposure he would get in a loss to Cotto should (especially if he put's up a good fight) do him more good that the loss will harm him.

    Both sides win.

On the other hand, if Cotto can't beat Berto, maybe he's broken...

What do you guys think? If you don't like this matchup, then who do you think MC should come back against?

Cotto KO. Sending Berto would be suicide. Berto is better off facing Cintron, Quintana, Clottey or Judah.

    Cotto via T/KO or K.O.

I'm not taking anything away from Berto . . . he is just untested up to this point . . . thus my choice.

Samee same here. I think Cotto wins convincingly, but who else would you match Cotto against coming back? Don't know if I'd send him after Clottey immediately, or PW for that matter. Cintron. Yeah has to be. That's who they were talkin' about a couple of weeks ago right? Guess I forgot. Sorry Cintron.;)

Cotto by KO, nightmare for Berto at this point but still a good come-back fight for Cotto with a title to pick up.

I don't know if Berto is getting underrated or if Cotto is getting overrated. Anyway, I'll take Cotto in this fight. However, Cotto seems to have problems getting out of the way of right hands and uppercuts, and has some punch resistence issues. That's not good against a guy with power, fast hands, and a good straight right and a good uppercut. Berto also has some chin concerns, and his offense isn't as advanced as Cotto's. Gotta take Cotto, but Miguel is always liable to get knocked out against a guy with Berto's skill set.

If Berto can establish the fact that he is the quicker man early on in the fight and connect well to Cotto's jaw it could be Berto. If the fight goes past 4 rounds it is absolutely Cotto.

What the hell is wrong with you? I said I would take Cotto in this fight. However, let's not act like Cotto is some type of monster. The guy has a proven history of having trouble taking a good punch. He's had a track record of getting caught with straight shots down the middle and uppercuts. Berto can punch, Berto is fast, Berto throws a good straight right, and Betro throws a good uppercut. Who cares how tested you believe he is? How tested was Torres when he almost stopped Cotto?

Again, I would definately take Cotto in this fight. However, to act like Berto poses no threat is ridiculous.
