Anyone see this fight happening down the line? I know Cotto recently lost his father and Berto has had his fair share of tragedy recently so who do you think edges it considering both would have to keep on top of personal problems to win?

Been thinking about that one as well. This would be a lot better fight than Cotto-Foreman, imo... BTW, Cotto by mid to late KO.

This would be a great fight IMO. I can't even commit myself to a clear winner because although Cotto is a class act at the top level he's coming off the back of a fairly brutal loss at the hands of Pacquiao and to then lose your father, this is the sort of thing that can turn a prime fighter to post-prime. Berto has shown he is hungry to be the best but he has been directly affected by the events in Haiti, it's really a pick em' fight.

Does Cotto have enough left and has Berto come far enough yet. Total tossup, for me.

im puerto rican and a huge cotto fan but i would have a hard time picking a winner. honestly i dont see cotto winning this fight unless he gets a new trainer to tighten up his skills and defense. if not, i can see berto ko cotto with one of those fast, vicious uppercuts!

Yea, Cotto would have taken him, but right now I don't know.

I think Cotto still takes him. Late KO IMO, in a fight where Cotto gets back to his body attack and roughs Berto up.

Right now Cotto needs a fight to prepare him again like another Jennings or Gomez. Three of his four last fights have been real hard on him with top level notch fighters aside with dealing with a lot of things outside of boxing. His body has gone through a lot of battles, with little time to rest physically but also mentally. A fight against Berto is not the best thing for him at this moment. Though it seems he would be moving up to face Foreman.

I would like to see this one...but before it happens, if it ever happens, I would realy like to see Cotto vs Collazo. Without the title on the line it wouldnt be quite as big as it would have been when Cotto was the champ, but I think this would be a great fight. Especially at the Garden the night bfore the Puerto Rican day parade. Id rather see this than Cotto/Berto.

Yeah, Collazo probably gets unfairly overlooked. I'd like to see him get a shot at the IBF title.

Apart from Margarito-Cotto, Berto would be the best fight out there I think personally for me.

That's a tough fight, Berto's key to victory would be his uppercut, the one punch that cotto is most vulnerable to(i.e. Cotto-Margarito). I'd favor Cotto a bit more because of the experience factor though, plus I think Cotto's more skilled.
