Apparently Arum thinks Berto is overbidding himself, but Dibella answered back by saying they aren't even asking 50/50 for the fight. It's on the scene.

I hope this fight gets made. I would love to see where Cotto is at vs someone like Berto.

Even at this stage of his career Cotto still murders Berto.

i would as well. foreman is feather fisted plus was injured. seeing cotto against a top ranked fighter would be a great yardstick.

what weight tho? can cotto still comfortably make 147?

    could berto comfortably make 154?

Berto looks like a balooner to me. His frame is big, i'm sure he could hit 154. Even cotto seems a bit small for 154 in my eyes.

    Who would you take Luke?

I'll reluctantly take Berto over Cotto only due to Cotto's mileage.

Assuming Berto don't get his ass beat in his next fight...
This is one that makes sense and will generate a good buzz.

    Cotto would stop him.

Would be a great fight. Berto does throw a hell of an uppercut, that's the only thing Cotto would have to watch out for. Other than that, Cotto outboxes him.

    non-title hopefully then.

at 150 it is an absolute toss up.

I've seen some serious short comings with Berto, and Cotto has been in with the best welterweights of the era, which is mileage and experience.

I'd say Cotto would get the decision based on him being able to box with boxers who don't exactly knock people out all the time.

His jab is better, his hooks are sharper but Berto has faster hands.

I'd take Cotto tbh. Think he'd wear Berto down in the latter rounds but a good contrast in styles makes for an interesting fight!

Looks like I'm in the minority.
