On the button: Cotto has not weathered any storms at 160 so it remains to be seen how his war-torn body will hold up under duress. Canelo will certainly apply aggressive pressure and will indeed catch him with some heavy shots. It's one of those fights that can't not be a barnstormer. Seriously buzzing for this fight! Great vid btw Bogatozo :bbb
You make some good points it should be interesting. I'm still saying it's a pick em fight which is why this is such a great match up. I probably won't have an official prediction until fight week.:good
Canelo Not Worried About Roach Being a Factor For Cotto Posted by: Miguel Rivera on 8/16/2015 . The Scene "I think a fighter like Miguel Angel Cotto, he already has his style and he's not going to be able to change much," Canelo said regarding Roach to Golpe a Golpe
Woah, thanks man! Ah I did see that. Thanks for reminding me. Cotto doesn't need to change much, just take the best of what he's shown in his career. Canelo just has to tweak a few things as well, mainly relating to his footwork.
:good Thanks. I was afraid it would come off as biased when I tried to be objective, the thing is Canelo's ring generalship flaws just take longer to explain. Cotto getting hit takes 1 second per punch. Canelo chasing or getting pressed takes looking at whole sections of rounds.
The only thing that will save Canelo will be his chin because Cotto is gonna test it. There is no doubt that Cotto is the better boxer and that left hook to the body is back in business. Kirkland was a mark when he fought Canelo and you can't take anything from that fight. Canelo is a hard puncher but he is not a devastating puncher. Mayweather took his straight right flush and didn't even blink. I think that it will be a rough night for the cinnamon man. Cotto by UD.
I think it is hard to gauge Canelo's power. He looks like a crisp puncher but not really a devastating one. Floyd did take his shots fine, though part of that was that he saw them coming. I think Cotto's power has been more impressive as of late.
I don't think any one shot is going to break Cotto's chin. He has been stopped, but due to accumulation on both accounts.
Maybe Cotto on the move can outbox him. But maybe a Cotto on the front foot can tap the body and take the steam out of Canelo.
