Puerto Rico is awesome... Maybe only second to Cancun in popular tourist spots.. As far as the people, love them... They are happy, full of life, know how to have fun. No hate here.

I think one of the early rounds. Lara definitely has deficiencies of his own to work on but I thought he edged that fight. Canelo would wait on him to throw his 1-2's and 2-1's while advancing. Canelo's best JCC impression cutting the ring off was round 4 I think. Bobbing and weaving, trying to be first. Didn't last though.

Bogo - in your opinon does either guy stand a chance against Gennady? and if not, who is the man to beat him? (anywhere from 154 to 168

Have you done a technical breakdown on Gennady?

Neither Cotto nor Canelo stands a chance IMO. GGG, is a very technically sound fighter understands where he is at all times in the ring, great combo puncher, knows how to cut down the ring really well. Can be hit somewhat easily at times, which is why I think his chin will definitely be tested against Lemiuex. If he makes it past that test. I will be very impressed. The only fighter I truly believe from 154 to 168 can beat him is Ward. The layoffs will hurt Ward, but he has the skillset to beat GGG, quite easily at the moment to me.

It's hard to say. I think Cotto has the skill to box evenly with Golovkin, but Golovkin is so relentless and willing to trade with opponents that it's hard to see Cotto going 12 without getting hurt and stopped, or at least discouraged into throwing and forced to go into survival mode. It's interesting because GGG still hasn't faced anyone super skilled. He's developing a solid Middleweight resume but I think Roach really does see something lacking when he references his last fight. Sure, he could have been a bit careless carrying Monroe Jr. somewhat, but his defense on the inside is lacking. I think GGG is the real deal but I wouldn't be surprised to see him exposed by a fighter with good ring generalship and inside game which Cotto has.

Canelo is in a similar boat. I think his style could beat GGG if he patched some things up. Canelo likes to counter-punch and GGG is going to give him plenty of opportunities. The Stamina is an issue, but if Canelo can improve on the Angulo gameplan, throwing counter-combinations and pivoting out, he could show Golovkin a cost to his offense that he's never had to pay before. As of now it looks like Canelo takes too much time to get settled and comfortable to throw when against the ropes and GGG's footwork would certainly hem him in. But it would be a great fight while it lasted.

So yeah, I'd favor GGG against both but they have their chances.

Freddie has done wonders with Cotto. People can cut down his last two opponents....but the things he's doing are great to see regardless of opponent.

The way he's moving on his toes, in and out, getting on angles...brilliant. His footwork, angles, jab, and combos could be enough to keep Canelo's hands at home all night and win this thing.

    Great, great fight.

It's funny you mention that. Because sometimes a guy can look great and it all falls apart during a rise in his opposition. Other times a guy has abilities and techniques that carry over regardless. Distinguishing what kind of characteristics carry over is a good skill to have. I think volume and accuracy and timing are things that change with the quality of opponent. But speed, ring generalship, footwork tend to carry over.

Golovkin is Cotto's mandatory, so Cotto is paying Golovkin stand aside money so Cotto does not get knocked out by Golovkin................now Golovkin will be the mandatory for the winner of Cotto/Alvarez, Golovkin will knock either one of them out...................

Cotto can't move around like that all night. He'll slow down sooner or later. Sooner if Canelo finds the body. Which he likely will given the fact he's a serious body puncher himself.

Cotto is getting stopped late. I can't see any other out come unless Canelo is hiding a weak chin. This fight will prove weather he is or not.

Nobody Canelo fought as of now had the ability to test his jaw.
