anyone else feel like Cintron has a good chance to beat Cotto. I picked Margo to beat Cotto and I dont even like Margo. Cintron would take cottos punches better than viceversa. Cotto might be able to outbox cintron for 12 rounds but if the fight gets physical I think Cintron can stop him.
I'd love to see this. Be curious to see if Cotto can take Cintron's power or Cintron can take Cotto's pressure.
deffenitly not. Cotto boxed real well in the first half of the fight but Margo just kept coming and caught up with him in the late rounds and cotto folded. not much Cotto could do better.
Actualy I think this fight makes perfect sence for both of em. I think that the both of them are guys who are just not gonna be able to beat Tony Margarito but who will be able to be solid top 10 guys. And actualy who wins I'm not even going to get into it. Cintron is apparantly a soft touch(whoever thinks that serioustly is insane) and would be a repectable opponent for a guy who just got beat into submission in his last fight. and Cotto is just the kind of win Cintron would need to be a SERIOUS top 5 contender.
agreed...people were talking like cotto outboxed him for a solid 9 rounds and just got gassed....that aint how it happened either, Tony kept it compedative and was clearly winning rounds.
This fight should be made in the Bronx or San Juan I think Cintron doesnt get his just do by the PR fans especialy if he beats Cotto
sorry i have seen both his fights wit Tony and it seems like he cracks under pressure. cotto may not be able to apply the same pressure but i see the same results happening
Cintron is just a hard hitter, nothing special about him. I still cant believe Merchant said PBF should fight the guy to secure his legacy.
Cotto beats Cintron, I'd be very secure in that pick. Cintron can not deal with pressure. He has showed that with Margorito and Feliciano. Both guys had a lot of success taking it to Cintron. Cotto would bring the fight to him as well and break him down. I see a Cotto stoppage late. Of course Cintron can hit as hard as any welterweight out there but a puncher's chance is about it. Cotto by k.o.
Cintron is a right hand specialist, and Cotto is a sucker for the right hand. Cotto is also not an all out pressure fighter. He's more of a stalker and a boxer puncher. Cotto does have his full on body destroyer mode though, as exhibited in the Quintana and Judah fights. He can jump all over an opponent, but he tends to move in and out and allow an opponent opportunity's to do damage at range. Cotto has also faced down a right hand specialist of lower caliber in Bailey, succesfully. It's an intriguing matchup for all these reasons, both guys have their aces in the hole - however, I doubt very seriously that Top Rank will put Cotto in with any puncher they don't own the rights to. It's unlikely we'll see this anytime soon, if ever. I would love to be wrong about that, but this is probably only on DiBella's mind, and DiBella's mind alone.
