Should Cotto and Clottey win their fights Arum plans on having a unification match in PR. Thoughts.

That is what we need. A unification fight. Personally if it were Margarito and Judah I wouldn't complain either.

I don't see that one coming and there's no reason to expect such a match with great antecipation even if it would be with two welterweight titles on the line. That means that quite frankly these two separate welterweight championship fights are more interesting in themselves... If Cotto is to overcome Antonio, then there's no reason at all to believe that he'll have more difficulty beating Clottey and I do believe that there's a much better chance to see Cotto in there than Clottey.

Cotto will be served to Clottey even if he loses to Margarito.

That's the plan. Arum knows what happens when these guys become superstars, he's going to take his money back out of Miguel Cotto's ass before he's done with him.

It just hit me that since there's this looming DLH retirement that Arum is doing the same thing as GBP. Since DLH is floating around the idea of fighting Pac then Arum is starting to float the idea of Clottey.

I think Cotto would turn down a Clottey fight.....

He is so over-rated it is untrue

I would like Margo vs Zab - regardless of winners - but Cotto fighting either Judah or Clottey is pointless

why cant berto fight judah/clottey? if he's as good as we think he is then its a winnable fight, cotto v williams and judah/clottey v berto and the 2 winners face off

That would be a good step after the next fight then Williams after that.

I thought I heard somewhere Arum is very wary of pitting two of his superstars that he promotes at Top Rank together since there is still money to be made before any serious damage needs be inflicted to one another. In any event, I like the match but we need to see what happens first this Saturday night.

If cotto do not fight De la Hoya, well this fight is good enought to be made. Waht other options he have, umm paul Williams a doubt Arum want that fight. Maybe the ,mandatory a hall of famer ukranian who got a draw against a journeyman who is cotto sparring partner.

After Margarito, Cotto has a heap of options. Oscar, Clottey, Williams all being good fights, then possibly Berto if he can progress enough during that time. Who needs Floyd Mayweather???
