Something special? You saw him against Jennings and now he's something special??? Clottey is not as inactive as you guys think. And his stamina is no worse than Cotto's stamina. And is infighting is what will allow him to tap that glass jaw. And those body shots everyone rants and raves about???? Clottey is a tank. He'll be a good solid 170 lb. tank on fight night. Cotto's body attack will be null and void.:nono

You guys are in for a rude awakening on June 13th! Clottey is gonna beat the brakes off Cotto. I'm tired of talkin about it. I know some of you guys are tired of me talkin **** about your boy so I'm gonna leave it alone.

I tried to learnya sumthin! But ya head too hard!:verysad

Just please, take my advice. Don't go betting all you money on Cotto. You will be extremely hurt and disppointed.:bart

I say Cotto by UD I agree with the posters who said Clottey will have his moments and win rounds early in the fight but Clottey seems to Fade over the distance Cotto by UD.

    Agreed.

Clottey is a very tough opponent and this figures to be a very tough fight for Cotto. Contrary to the percentages of this poll however, Cotto seems to get underated by some of the posters on this board. Clottey has one big deficiency in that he becomes stagnent with his offense at times and I believe Cotto will exploit that deficiently as a weakness over the coarse of 12 rounds. The body punches will have to be key for Cotto to assure that Clottey's workrate stays to minimum in the late rounds. The body also serves as more viable target being Clottey keeps his guard high and tight. Cotto UD.

How exactly is Cotto underrated on this board? About 70% on this forum also picked Cotto to beat Margo. Many claimed he would KO Margo as well. Plenty also think Cotto beats Williams, Margo in a rematch, and Floyd.

Some of people (not everyone) who are picking against Cotto are doing so not because of styles or substance. I get the feeling that some don't think he's capable against any of elite fighters because he's not an elite fighter himself. So in other words some people are hating.

you could say the same for some of the 70% that are picking Cotto. Stylistically, this a tough fight for Cotto.

To me, this is quite possibly a nightmare opponant for someone like Cotto.

A bigger stronger guy, with a good chin and solid overall skills.

Im not really confident of him winning this...but it is the kind of opponant Im glad he is taking on because a win will prove he is back in the saddle and back in the p4p mix.

I do think Joshua's sometimes conservative approach will favour Miguel, as he may not be worked as hard as he was in the figths where he visibly tired.
But all the of the other attributes he brings to the able could spell disaster.

    Im picking Cotto by decision.

There's no doubt that Clottey is a tough style match up for Cotto as he would be for any potential opponents at 147 and even 154. What I'm simply trying to point out is that Clottey's has a deficiency in that his offense at times seems to become dorment as he idling behing his guard. I realize that much of his inactivity is calculated because he is such a supurb counter puncher however he has yet to face an opponent with the skills of Cotto to really exploit that deficiency. I expect both fighters to be pushed to the brim but in the end I favor Cotto on the cards.

not really, Clottey has no real power, his high guard makes him susceptible to Cotto's best shot, he has a low work rate, and his stamina is nothing amazing

he's tough and some skills, but.....stylistically he brings no trouble for Cotto, he'll win this pretty easily, Clottey may have a few moments but, he's pretty much gonna get ate up on the scorecards

Monstar, I expect you to be very surprised at the outcome of this fight. Paulie Malignaggi was completely outgunned against Cotto. He lacked defense, had zero power, and they fought in a very small ring which hampered his movement. Despite being completely outgunned, he won 3 or 4 rounds. Now Clottey is much better equipped to fight Cotto. His defense is much better, he doesn't have great power but he has enough to hurt Cotto, and he has an excellent chin. I expect this to be a very tough fight for Cotto. To say he poses no threat to Cotto is misguided IMO.

You think Clottey is a tough matchup for Cotto, you think Cotto will get pushed to the brim, yet you believe Cotto is being underrated despite the fact that 70% are picking him to win?
