Lets say he moves down back to 154 where he is more suited. Who wins? Dzinziruk outboxes him in my opinion maybe really hurts him with another right hook that he stunned martinez with. I think it would be emtertainimg to see. Thoughts??? :bbb
I think i missed that (Dzinurik hurting Martinez).. Actually one of the main reasons Martinez had his way with Dzinurik is cause he didnt respect his power, you could just see the diffrence in their shots... Almost reminded me of last weeks Canelo-Hatton fight. Im about to watch the HBO replay again what round was that were you say Dzinurik hurt Martinez? As for Dzinurik and Cotto i can see Dzinurik winning some rounds and troubling him with his big height and reach advantges and good boxing skills, but even a past it Cotto is a class higher.. And i cant see Dzinurik scoring a ko or backing Cotto up... I think Cotto solves him by the mid rounds... Cotto by late stoppage or closed decision.
It was the early rounds the commentators called it out as well. I dnt remember exactly what round. I didmt mean hurt as in put in danger I meant it stunned him. It was a nice right hook. That had solid pact. As for cotto, I dnt see cotto knocking him out and I he gets hit way to much to win on points plus he is a lot smaller. It would be a good fight imo.
Interesting fight. Maybe an SD for Cotto, but The Razor if not badly affected by his most recent fight with Martinez will make it close and he'll have his moments. Would prefer a Cotto-Cintron all PR war after Cotto gets done with Margarito.
I think Dzyna was well aware of the power difference right from the start. Isn't a whole lot he could do about it rather than run like a girl, something that he isn't about. Dzinziruk would handle Cotto and is a class above.
Dzinziruk beats him quite comfortably. This is where Steward is Cotto's undoing, he'd try to box with the faster, better and defensively more sound boxer and get outboxed in the process. Old Cotto of 140lbs days would present a tougher stylic challenge for The Razor, but Miguel doesn't have the same energy in his shots to duplicate that at 154. It'd be very wise not to think too much of Cotto's LMW performances, one vs. Yuri Foreman who got knocked out vs. a B-level fighter yesterday, and one vs. a washed up and recycled brawler. Dzinziruk is on a completely different level.
I've never been convinced that Cotto belongs at 154 and that's really the weight class Dzinziruk is best suited to. He has a tremendous jab, which is more effective against orthodox fighters, and I can see him giving Cotto a lot of problems. Maybe Miguel still has enough left to work him out and wear him down with his power-punches - I'm not sure. Win, lose or draw, it's a bad match-up for Cotto and I very much doubt we'll ever see it. Fair or nor, Dzinziruk doesn't have the style which is going to have HBO clamouring for his return.
Its a mismatch. Miggy would get raped. Arum, and Manny Steward would never let Cotto face Martinez anyway.
There is a reason why Cotto went for Foreman's belt, and not Dzinzurik's. I got Dzinzurik beating Cotto, and I do not think the fight is all that close. For that reason, you will not see Bob Arum mention his name when it comes to Cotto. Arum will avoid that fight and claim it is because of "money/drawing power" despite it being a unification bout at 154.
I can't really gauge just how good Dzinzriruk is based off of that performance the other night. Martinez nullified all of his strengths, and accentuated his weaknesses.
Agree with most here about dzinziruk winning. I thouhght its interesting match up an kould unify the division if cotto really wants to fix his legacy like he says he should try for the fight. Probably wont happen to bad for dzinziruk. Probably will never get another chance
