I think both fighters get hurt and even hit the mat floyd never has done well with agressive body punchers and thats what cotto is.. and honestly i think if cotto hurt floyd he wont recover well Cotto knows how to fight when hurt i think Cotto goes down early and ko's floyd late

Let's wait until after Hatton vs Mayweather to set that in stone.

Cotto-Mayweather is one that MUST happen. As long as Cotto remains undefeated PBF has no legitimate right to call himself the best. AND, I can't think of a potential fight on the horizon that would generate more excitement in the boxing world. Pavlik/Taylor II looks like a done deal, but it won't be nearly as exciting as the first fight. Either JT runs all night and we get a boring fight, or Pavlik blows him out in under 6 rounds. Calzaghe/Hopkins SUCKS! I would not pay a dime to watch Joe beat up a 43 year old man. There are other fights on the horizon naturally, but the only thing that would even come close to Cotto/Mayweather would be Pavlik/Calzaghe, and that fight is never going to happen. Joe is set on moving up, and Kelly seems set on cleaning up at 160.

It'll be interesting to see what Floyd will have to say when the announcers ask him if he would fight Cotto next (provided he gets past Hatton). Floyd will say he aint nothing, bring him on, but WILL HE step into the ring with Cotto????? Is the money right for him? I really hope he does and will have much respect if he does but I have a bad feeling that he won't fight Cotto. He'd rather rematch Oscar.

Nah nah nah :nono . . . I'll say it again. PBF will not commit and exchange just like Hatton and Cotto would.

So the best fight would be Cotto vs Hatton. :yep

Cotto vs Hatton would probably be the most exciting fight in the history of boxing. Blood, guts, sweat and spit. :yep

On 2nd thought ...this would be the best fight to determine who the real "man" is at WW. However, I think Cotto vs. Margarito, Williams, Cintron would probably be much exciting fights in terms of good 2 way action.

I dont think PBF has to commit and exchange with Cotto for it to be the best fight out there. Mayweather would be a complete idiot to exchange with Cotto. Cotto is naturally much bigger and stronger than Mayweather and has alot more power. I would love to see Mayweather pot shot, move around and out point Cotto. It doesn't take a great boxer to take a beating, but if Mayweather could stand in there and confuse and discourage Cotto that would be amazing. The perfect example of this would be the Duran vs Leonard fights. They could set this fight at any amount and it'll be on my TV if it happens

Mayweather ( or Hatton) - Cotto is a fight that makes sense since both fighters are no longer rising stars, they are consummate professionals who proved themselves against good opposition in World Championship fights at 130, 135, 140, 147 and even 154 lbs and remained undefeated. Then, it's another step towards welterweight unification and clarification with the WBC and the WBA working together once again in search of one unified Championship. However, this definitely doesn't mean that each and every other titlist at 147 pounds and top contenders by all the commissions should not be given a chance to prove their quality against the unified ww champion sooner rather than later.

does it really matter where its at? and Vegas has always been a great place for boxing. Now look what you want a fight in Yankee stadium on the day of the parade...lol...fukkin hilarious the shyt that spews outta peoples mouths the fight will be big regardless of where its at.

That said one heel of a fight...Cotto for damn sure has impressed me but i still say his head is a magnet for punches as he gets hit an awful lot. However he is a tuff S.O.B and is very talented i still think PBF is just too much for him overall defensively he wont get hit like Mosley, he will definitely exploit that uppercut punch which lands frequently on Cotto, and will frustrate Cotto with his movement and will beat Cotto to the punch unlike Mosley who regularly got beat to the punch. Great fight though. I can see this 60/40.
