Cotto vs Floyd reverse careers from 07 onwards...

    Cotto has gone 11 - 2 ( 2) with 7 knockouts.

    Floyd has gone 5 - 0 with 2 knockouts.


    Cotto has clearly been the busier fighter with almost three times as many fights.

    I also think Cotto has fought a sterner level of competition.

    If their careers from 2007 were reversed would there be a differeny outcome?

    For me I think Cotto would be

    4 - 1 with 3 knockouts - Hattton , JMM, Ortiz.

    Loses by knockout to Oscar.

    Floyd

    12 - 1 with 4 knockouts - Urkal , Gomez , Jennings , Foreman.

    Loses to Margarito , but adjusts and wins the return.

    And that means what in a hypothetical matchup? You think Margarito who was being outboxed thoroughly by Cotto before his bricks hardened would beat Mayweather?

    Wait, does Margarito get his bricks or not in this fantasy fight?

    The bricks dont matter in this one.

    In 07 Marg would have been all wrong for Floyd and Floyd knew it.

    u think a mobile 07 Floyd wouldnt be able to make Margarito look like a fool? DLH is a better, stronger, more skilled and bigger fighter than margarito.

    hell, Cotto out boxed Margarito for most of the fight, what makes u think a superior boxer like floyd couldnt get a shut out UD?

    Without bricks - 2 year vacation.

    With bricks - 4 year vacation.

    Either way holiday time until Marg becomes a punch bag and Floyd wins yet another fantasy matchup he would never take in his career.

    If you didnt notice I did give Floyd the decision against Manny in 09 . But the Floydettes dont notice these points.

    Without looking at it would you think Castillo, who is slow footed and quite ordinary be the man to push Floyd hardest ??

    Marg was a nightmare for Cotto (a fight I won money on), Floyd would have the same nightmare.

    Thats why Mayweather fought Oscar De La Hoya and Shane mosley, 2 guys who were infinitely better then Margarito. hell I bet Oscar could come out of retirement today and still kick Margacheato's ass. But yeah he was scared. Nothing to do with Bob Arum wanted Floyd to sign a 3 fight contract worth less then what he'd get for Oscar by himself.

    Castillo was sparring partners with Julio Cesar Chavez. Castillo technically was infinitely superior to Margarito. Castillo never blocked punches with his face. :roll:

    u cant compare Castillo fight to the 07 Floyd, especially the first fight with an injury. hes improved since then. Margo would get picked apart, and if things got hectic Floyd would wrap him up and get out the way. too many tricks up his sleaves to get beat by such a limited fighter with no defense or head movement whatsover. it would be a shut out like Pac vs Margo, just not as brutal.
